Chapter 6: Leaving Jae...

Jae's POV:

We had not spoken a word to each other for the entire day.

We just stared at each other in silence.

What was there to say?

We were going to be separated.

By something deadly.

Something that could make our lives much more hell-like miserable.

Something that could end our relationship once and for all.

War.

My loving dad was not excused.

So weren't Joong and Ze. And their dads...

It was a day of immense pain for all womenfolk.

Their beloved had to be called to battle.

War had broken out.

And nowhere was safe from it.

All men were called up to the army to protect their country.

We were standing at the field where chaos and confusion was raging amidst emotional outbursts, as those left behind were bidding those called to battle farewell.

My dad came up to me, and I hugged and kissed him on his cheek.

Jae: Come back safely Daddy... Mummy and I will miss you... We'll be praying for your return every single day...

Jae's Dad: I know Jae... Daddy will miss you two too... I promise I'll take good care of myself, and not get into trouble...

He pulled away from hugging me and went to bid farewell to my Mum.

My eyes went to Ze who was bidding farewell to his granny with his Dad. I stared at him in silence. Then he walked towards me. We did not say a word.

All the commotion and noise were blocked out from us. I couldn’t hear a single thing. My world revolved only around Ze and me. My eyes never left his.

Commander: Gather now men, it’s time to get into the trucks! Hurry up! On the double! Your country awaits your protection!

The commander’s voice echoed through the chaos.

My eyes started to burn with intense hatred.

Why did there ever have to be such a silly thing as war?

No one’s gonna benefit from it.

And everyone’s gonna lose something of importance to them because of it.

Why did it ever have to exist?

I hated it.

I hated it for the chaos and destruction it caused.

I hated it for the casualties it caused.

Most of all, I hated it for taking away my beloved from me.

He spoke for the first time.

Ze: I’ve to go now… The commander’s calling…

Ze said plainly, placing his hand on my face, and started stroking my cheek lovingly.

I didn’t move.

My pride prohibited me from accepting the fact that the very thing that I hated had succeeded in separating me from him.

Ze saw the anger in my eyes. But there was nothing that he could do to make himself be excused from army responsibilities…

To stop all the pain that was piercing my heart every single second…

To stop the despair he felt from being unable to do anything to relieve me of the pain that was hurting me…

Ze: Would you kindly give me a goodbye kiss before I go, my sweet?

Ze whispered softly, forcing himself to maintain his composure in front of me.

I replied by tiptoeing up to meet his lips with mine.

Once my lips touched his, he wrapped his arms around me, pulling me closer. He had wanted to take away my pain by giving me one last kiss. But once we kissed, I ignited the despair he felt. And when I responded to him pulling me closer by wrapping my arms around his neck, his despair turned into mad rage. His lips engulfed mine and his tongue was tightly entwined with mine. He hugged me so tightly until it hurt.

I melted in his arms…

Tears that I had fought to prevent from pouring in front of him started pouring down my face…

I couldn’t endure my pain anymore...

Commander: On the double! Your country awaits your protection!

The commander’s voice echoed through the chaos once again.

He withdrew himself from the passionate yet painful kiss, and took a long look at me, wiping the tears from my cheeks.

Ze: Take good care of yourself when I’m not around. You’re to remain the same when I see you again. Remember, you’re mine. I love you.

He gave me a soft peck on my lips, and pulled himself away and started walking towards the truck.

I stood there in the crowd as I watched him walk away from me. I was dizzy from all the chaos. My tears blurred the image of him as he walked further and further away.

Then I ran towards him. And threw my arms around him. He took my arms and turned around to face me. I leached myself onto him.

Jae: Take good care of yourself too when I’m not around. And you’re to REMAIN the SAME when I see you AGAIN. YOU REMEMBER that YOU’RE MINE... And nothing's supposed to happen to you unless I say so...

And I tilted up to look at him.

There he was. Half smiling. Half crying. Tears were flowing down his face. It was the first time that I saw him cry. He always had sorrowful eyes, but they never seemed to carry enough sorrow to break out into a fulfilling cry. But now I had managed to make them weep. In public. For me.

Ze: I know…

I reached to wipe his face of the tears from his face. He grabbed hold of my hand instead, pulled it to his lips, planted a kiss on it, and then placed it on his face.

Ze: I’ve to go now…

Jae: Wait... I haven’t finished… I’ve missed out something…

His eyes opened wider with curiosity. I reached for his neck with my free hand and pulled his face closer to mine.

Jae: I love you.... Will you be mine forever?

I took out the ring that I had bought for him.

He was totally stunned. Taken aback. And he didn’t answer.

Jae: I know you've already proposed... But I haven't given you a ring yet... If you don’t want it, you can still refuse. It’s just something to keep my mind at ease that you won’t go to other girls when I’m not...

He didn’t answer. He didn’t have to. Cos he gave me the best answer that I could ever think of.

He captured my mouth in his and gave me the most passionate kiss that he had ever given me. And as his lips remained locked onto mine, his hands went down to my knees and swept me up into his arms. Then he spun me round and round in sheer joy.

Ze: I love you.

Jae: Is that a yes?

He nodded blissfully.

Jae: So REMEMBER that you’ve someone waiting for you back home…

I moved closer to his ear, avoiding his gaze, and whispered.

Jae: Waiting for you to… to…

I blushed and decided to rephrase my thoughts.

Jae: To make her the happiest wife in the world…

I looked down shyly.

I felt him turn towards me and his lips beside my ear.

Ze: I’ll definitely put that on my top priority now… my lil’ wifey…

And started putting me down on my feet.

I looked up embarrassingly. He looked into my eyes cheekily, and then his face turned hard again.

Ze: I’ve gotta go now. I’ll give you the most unforgettable wedding when I’m back… Wifey…

Jae: I know… Remember you still owe me... something… I love you… My hubby…

He turned and walked towards the truck.

My eyes followed him but I didn’t move.

Joong's POV:

I watched from the side as Jae-nuna bid goodbye to Ze-hyung. I knew she was hurting the most as two most important men in her life were leaving her at the same day to go to the frontline.

I didn't matter... At least I no longer think I did to her... I just hoped that her pain could be lessened if I didn't matter to her... At least that would mean one less important person was leaving her... I didn't want her to miss me... Worry about my safety... But a part of me craved for her attention and love...

Yuki was hugging me and saying something to me, but my eyes kept staring at Jae-nuna... I didn't register anything Yuki said to me at all...

Joong: Yuki... I got to go now...

Yuki: Joong... Stay safe... I'll wait for you...

I nodded and walked off.

The truth was, I didn't want her to wait for me... I wished that I would perish at the frontline and not have to suffer the pain that I was bearing now in my heart... But as the only son of my parents, I knew I couldn't do something so cruel to them... It wasn't their fault... They didn't deserve to suffer like me... It was the best that I suffered alone and let the rest live on in happiness...

I walked past Jae-nuna, who was looking at Ze-hyung who had already walked to the trucks. There were tears in her beautiful eyes... She was crying...

I wanted so much to hug her and to wipe her tears away... But she didn't even notice me...

I felt a sharp stab in my heart... The pain was too much for me to bear... I hastened my pace and walked on towards the truck...

Jae: Joongie...

My heat stopped when I heard her call my name...

I turned around slowly. She was wiping her tears away with her hands, and forcing a smile on her face when she walked towards me...

She pinched my cheek playfully.

Joong: Nuna!!! What are you doing?!!! Let go of me!!!

I pushed her hand away and rubbed my cheek painfully.

Jae: *giggles* I'll miss you Joongie... Stay safe...

She tip-toed and gave me a hug. My heart stopped for another time when she did it... I couldn't believe it... She was hugging me... Slowly my hands snaked around her back to hug her back... For a moment, I felt the whole world revolve around her and me only...

Jae (whispering into my ear): Remember you still owe me 50 bucks... So you must come back... And pay me back the money...

I smiled. She was so adorable. How can she be thinking of such things at this kind of time? But I knew that it was her way of making the situation less tensed... She wanted to cheer me up... Even though she was feeling even worse than me...

Joong: Araso (I know)... I'll pay you back your money nuna... When I get back... And stop nagging so much... You're already turning into ajumma (old auntie) before you're married...

She hit my head playfully. I pulled away from the hug and pretended to rub my head painfully.

Jae: Naughty boy...

Joong (seriously): I'm not a boy anymore... I'm a man now... Don't call me a boy...

I looked at her seriously and for a while she got a surprise at my reaction. She broke our eye lock and looked down.

Jae: Araso... Just take good care of yourself and your dad... We'll all be waiting for you guys to come back... Safely...

Joong: I will... I got to go now... Bye... Nuna...

I walked away from her.

This was enough... This was all I needed to hear...

She still cared for me...

She would be waiting for me to come back...

My beloved Jae-nuna...

I promise that I would come back safely to her...

Along with her dad, Ze-hyung, his dad, and my dad...

We'll ALL come back safely to her...

I promise...

Chapter 5: The letter

Jae's POV:

After Joong left my room, I got up to the window and peeped as he walked back into his house.

Phew!!! That was a close shave... So embarrassing!!! Can't believed I barged into Joong's room and catching him and his girlfriend making love!!! I should certainly knock before I enter any room from now on...

I sat back down in front of my labtop. And I started clicking around aimlessly, thoughts wondering back to the images of Joong and his girlfriend...

I didn't know nowadays the teens are so open-minded... Even though we've been dating for so long, Ze's never done anything more than kissing... Or was it cos I wasn't attractive enough? I must admit that Joong's girlfriend was REALLY pretty... And cute... And sexy... Must have been hard trying to resist her charms...

I felt a tinge of sourish jealousy in my heart...

Was I jealous that Joong and his girlfriend were so mad about each other that they couldn't contain their desires for each other, while I wasn't able to make Ze desire me so much that he would...

*sigh*

*uh oh*

My Yahoo Messenger had a new message for me. It was Ze. I clicked on the window to read the message...

Ze: Hi hon' r u doing research for a nice location for our wedding dinner? <3

I smiled and typed my reply.

Jae: No I've not started yet... I'm slow... remember? I've just started surfing...

Ze: u'd better hurry then... i just got a letter from the military... there's some thing going on that they need all of us to head back to the army urgently...

Jae: what???!!! then wat abt our wedding? ;-(

Ze: ;-) no worries... u're oredi my wifey in my eyes... u dun have to worry e wedding... that's juz a procedure... if time dun permit it nw, we'll do it when i get back...

Jae: i've no choice i guess... ok i'd better buck up then... i gtg nw n do my "work"... dun bother me... ;-p

Ze: ok ok... <3>

Ze's POV:

I held onto the letter in my hand as I read the last message from Jae. There was some trouble in the frontline and I was called back to help out in the army.

I think all men were called to the army...

Cos even my dad wasn't spared...

And the trouble must be quite huge to justify calling up ALL the men in the country...

I was worried, but I didn't tell Jae too much. I didn't want her to worry about me...

I wanted her to be the happiest bride in the world when we wed...

But I guess that day would have to wait...

I just hope that her dad won't be called back too...

Or else she would know what's happening...

And she would start worrying...

Joong's POV:

I took the mail from the letterbox as I walked back to my house from Jae-nuna's. There were 2 letters from the army for me and my dad. I opened mine, and read...
Dear sir, you are hereby being enlisted to the army for early national service.

Oh no...

I ripped opened Dad's letter. It said the same thing. He was being called back into the army. There must be something going on the frontline to warrant all these...

If my dad's not spared, won't Jae-nuna's dad...

And Ze-hyung be called back too?!!!

Chapter 4: BOO!!!

Joong's POV:

My heart was in the dumps when I heard the news of Jae-nuna and Ze-hyung's marriage. I needed to find a way to make myself forget her.

There were always many girls in school that were vying for my attention, but I never paid any attention to them. Somehow none of them could make me feel the way that Jae-nuna made me feel. I didn't know that it was love then. But now I know...

And it hurt me so badly I needed to find a substitute for my love...

I decided to accept one of the girls who had been writing love letters to me every day - Yuki. A junior of mine. And I started to date her. She was a very pretty girl. She had really big eyes and a very sweet and cute face. She loved to take pictures and takes loads of pictures of me and her whenever we go out. On the bus, on the train, at the restaurant, even at the cinema... Everytime she would stick her face next to mine and pose cutely when she took the pictures with her handphone. I guess you could call her an ullzang (cam whore)... But then if you looked around, almost ALL of the teens my age were doing it... She even changed my handphone's wallpaper into a picture of the two of us together. I got a surprise when I saw it!

I enjoyed hanging out with Yuki, cos she would tell me that she loved me every single day. Whether it was an sms, a call, or a kiss. She would pamper me with sweet-nothings that made me feel loved. But it wasn't the same. I never forgot Jae-nuna... It just made things worst for me... I started pretending that Yuki was Jae-nuna... And wishing that she was her when she said all those loving words to me...

One day we were in my room hanging out...

Yuki had lost to me at a game on my PS3, and she had made a very cute face at me. I felt an unbearable urge to kiss her... Cos she reminded me of the face Jae-nuna made at me to cheer me up whenever I was feeling sad...

I pulled her towards me and started kissing her. My whole mind was filled with images of Jae-nuna when I kissed Yuki. The more I kissed Yuki, the more I thought of Jae-nuna, the more I felt I needed to hold her...

I was unable to oppress my burning desire for Jae-nuna anymore... I pushed Yuki onto my bed and kissed her passionately. My hands roamed all over her body, pulling her clothes apart to reveal her body, I covered her skin with my kisses...

But my whole mind kept thinking of Jae-nuna...

Nuna... I wanted to hold her sooo much...

Jae's POV:

I admit I started neglecting Joong when Ze came along. And I always felt sorry for that... I didn't want to be one of those friends who forgot your friends when you found a boyfriend... But the truth was... I was one of them...

We were so busy preparing for the wedding and basking in our love that I never realised what was happening to Joong.

It was only a few months into our wedding preparation that I overheard from my mum that Joong's mum told her that Joong was dating a girl from school now. And she comes over quite a lot and hangs out with him in his room.

My mind flashed back to the days where Joong and I hung out in his room to play with his PS3, where he would trash me so badly at the game that I would beg him to stop forcing me to play with him. And he would tease me about my lousy gaming skills, even though I've been playing the same game with him for so long... How come I never improved even a slight bit at it...

I smiled. Those were really enjoyable times to reminisce. But I was glad he found some one that gave him happiness, like how Ze did for me. But I wanted to see how the girl looked like. Was she a good person? Was she pretty? Was she perfect enough for my beloved dongsaeng whom I had doted on since I was 6?

I needed answers. So I told my mum that I'll go drop by at Joong's house and grill him about the new girlfriend, since all of us wanted to know more about her.

His mum let me into the house, and told me that his girlfriend was upstairs in his room playing PS3 with him. Before she could call for him, I did a "Sh" sign to ask her not to let Joong know that I was there. I wanted to sneak up on him and give him a surprise. And since I knew my way around their house, she didn't bother to take me up.

I walked up to his room on tip-toes, as quietly as I could.

Jae: BOO!!!!

I opened his room door suddenly to give him a surprise...

Yuki: OOOOHHHH JOONG-YA!!!! SARANGHEYO!!!!

Joong was naked on his bed with his girlfriend under him, and she was moaning loudly with ecstasy when I barged in. My eyes widened with shock and immediately I turned my back towards them and slammed the door behind me. My face flushed red with embarrassment and I ran down the stairs and out his house back to mine.

Joong's POV:

My eyes stared at my room door in shock when it opened suddenly, and standing at the door staring at me naked on the bed with Yuki was Jae-nuna!!!!

Yuki was still moaning when Jae-nuna came in so she didn't notice at all. Jae-nuna slammed the door behind her and I could hear her running down the stairs and slamming the door behind her as she left my house.

Jae-nuna... Why did you have to see me like this? I must explain things to you... I must...

I got up and started getting dressed. Yuki got a shock when I suddenly pulled away from her.

Yuki: What's wrong? I thought you wanted to...

Joong: Mianeyo Yuki... I don't think I can... Mianeyo... I need to go now...

I ran out of my room, leaving a confused Yuki on my bed. I ran over to Jae-nuna's house and her mum let me in. I rushed up to her room. She was just switching on her labtop, and mumbling to herself while fanning her face continuously. She always mumbles to herself when she is hyper, or if she did something she shouldn't have done. I walked into her room.

Joong: Nuna... I...

She spun around immediately when she heard my voice. Her face was red like a tomato. She sat down immediately when she saw my face and tried to focus on her labtop.

Joong: Mianeyo...

Jae (hyperventilating, and speaking SUPER-FAST): Why are you apologizing? I should be the one who's apologizing... I shouldn't have just barged in... I should have knocked... I wasn't giving you your privacy... Mianeyo... Please tell your girlfriend I'm so sorry for my foolish act...

Joong: Mianeyo... We shouldn't have been doing that in the first place... It's all my fault...

Jae (hyperventilating, and speaking SUPER-FAST): Anio... Just head on back to your girlfriend... And tell her we'll have a nicer introduction the next time... I need to do my homework now... I've got loads to do!!!

Joong: Alright...

I walked out of her room reluctantly, having not been able to explain things to her at all. It wasn't at all like what she saw... I wasn't in love with Yuki... I was... STILL... in love... with HER...

Chapter 3: Be my bride...

Ze and I dated for a few years until we both graduated from college. I was a year older than him, but his course was a 3 year course, while mine was 4 years, so despite him being younger, we both graduated on the same year.

During our dating period, he brought me back to meet his family members. His parents are divorced, and he lived with his dad and his granny. They were both very amiable folks, and made me feel very at home whenever I visited. His granny was very warm towards me and always made very delicious desserts for me everytime I visited, cos she knew I loved desserts.

His granny and dad probably just loved me for my comical clumsiness, I reasoned... Cos there was no way, at least in my eyes, that someone like him would actually like someone as plain as me...

I too brought Ze back home to meet my parents. They were quite an embarrassment, as my mum kept telling him all my childhood stories and silly things I did. Even showing him photos of me when I was young!!! Bad memories overload!!! It was obvious that they too took an instant liking to Ze as he was a very respectful youth to the elders. Even I paled in comparison to him...

Being my best friend, of course Joong met Ze too. They too made instant friends with each other, as if they were long-lost brothers. They were quite alike in many ways. I can't list them all. But it was a feeling I had whenever I was with Ze. I felt a familiarity that made me feel really at ease and comfortable. I could be myself. Even though I am a klutz. I could be myself and not have to pretend to be someone else I'm not...

On the day of our graduation, after our convocation, we went to celebrate together over dinner. At the dinner, Ze suddenly proposed with a ring hidden in my fave dessert... I was so shocked... But I agreed...

Joong's POV:

When Jae-nuna first introduced me to Ze-hyung, I saw them walking hand in hand towards me. I was sitting in the restaurant waiting for nuna, as she had asked me to wait for her there, cos she wanted to give me a treat for getting good results at school. Never did I thought that it would be the day I would meeting her namja chingu...

I could feel my mood change from excited to shocked to sad within the short moment when she walked in with him. It was then that I know that I was jealous...

Jae-nuna now had someone else to protect her...

She didn't need her little dongsaeng anymore...

I kept a straight face and forced myself to put on a happy front for her. She had found someone she loved, which was a good thing. I should be happy for her...

But why do I feel like my heart was burning in hell?

I dismissed it off as jealousy, cos she had always been there for me since I was young. I never thought that one day she would not be there for me...

And seeing her with Ze-hyung made me realised that that day would come soon...

He was taking my Jae-nuna away from me...

I was jealous...

I wanted her to stay with me...

But who was I to keep her away from the one she loved?

I was just a chingu (friend), nam dongsaeng (younger bro),and at best a god-dongsaeng (god-bro) to her... I had no right...

From then on, I made sure I made Jae-nuna feel that I was very comfortable with Ze-hyung, as I didn't want her to feel awkward, if she knew how I actually felt about Ze-hyung... I wanted her to be happy...

So I became like brothers with Ze-hyung...

But the last straw was when they went out to celebrate their graduation together, and they came back with news that they were getting married!!! I had been waiting the entire day, afternoon and night to congratulate Jae-nuna and to give her a graduation present I bought for her with money I had made from working part-time...

My gift turned into a wedding gift for the two of them...

I wished them happiness and bliss in their marriage...

But inside I felt my heart being cut into millions of pieces...

My beloved nuna was going to leave me...

She had forgotten what I had said to her years ago...

But I still remembered it very clearly...

I loved her the most in this world...

I wanted her to be my bride...

I wanted to protect her for the rest of my life...

So that she'll never shed another tear from those beautiful eyes of hers...

It was then that I realised...

When she carried me in her arms for the very first time in the hospital...

I was already mesmerized by her sweet personality and her beautiful eyes...

I had been in love with Jae-nuna since the day we first met...

17 years ago...

But...

She was not mine to have and to hold...

Her heart belonged to someone else...

Chapter 2: First Kisses

My eyes widened when little Joong kissed me. Immediately I pushed him away and stared at him with wide-open eyes.

Jae: JOONGIE!!! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!!!

Joong was still smiling at me happily. I thought he looked seriously like a babo (fool) then. But I didn't tell him.

Joong: Kissing my future bride... *giggles*

Jae: Bride your head!!! *hits the back of his head once* You this little rascal... You stole... my... first... kiss...

Joong: Anio... Nuna, you stole mine... So you're not gonna hit me nuna... cos you love me TOO much... *giggles*

Joong got up and started running home giggling with me running after him.

Jae: YAH!!! JOONGIE!!! GET BACK HERE!!! You're gonna get it from me!!!

When I got into college, I had my first taste of romance. I met Ze. He was in the sports and physical education faculty. How we met was kinda embarrassing...

Since he was in sports, he would always be training at the sports complex right next to my medicine faculty. Yes I was in medicine, cos I had an obsession with Biology... Not that I like to cut up animals or things like that... But I found it very interesting... Science was always my fave subject during younger years... Let's just say I had an inquisitive mind. Anyway, back to how we met...

One day a course-mate of mine suggested that we go jogging in the sports complex next to our faculty instead of going to the gym and the boring treadmill. I agreed, cos the weather was pretty good, not too hot and humid. We were going into the restroom to get changed after the run and as there was a whole bunch of half-naked buff guys just outside the restroom area doing push-ups, we were very distracted, ogling and whispering to each other about their muscular bodies...

We walked into the restroom and my friend finished first as she didn't want to take a shower (she had a hostel room, I didn't), so she went outside to wait for me. I was just walking out of the cubicle when I saw Ze taking out his top right in front of me!!!

I screamed.

Jae: AHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! PERVERT!!!!!!!!!!

Ze got a shock and immediately put his top back on. He stared at me in shock. Then I started chasing him around the restroom, trying to hit him before some one else comes in and help capture him. In my haste and shock, I tripped on the towel that I was holding while running and fell forward.

Jae: AHHHH!!!!!!!

He turned around when he heard me screaming and I ended up falling onto him, pushing him onto the floor...

I stared wide-eyed at Ze who was under me, face inches away from mine, and lips touching mine, with the same shocked look in his eyes.

Jae's coursemate: Jae, what are you doing?!!!

Immediately I rolled myself off him and adjusted my clothes in embarrassment.

Jae: He's a pervert... He came into the ladies' restroom and...

Another guy rushed into the restroom. It was Ze's coursemate.

Ze's coursemate: Ze, what's all the racket in here? Why are you girls here?

Jae: What do you mean why are you girls here? This is ladies' restroom!!! I should be asking why are YOU GUYS here!!!

The guys started laughing. My coursemate gave an embarrassed look at me. Then she pulled me aside.

Jae's coursemate: This is the men's restroom, we went into the wrong one... I just realized when I walked out, but since you were still showering, I didn't want to give you a shock, so...

Jae: WHAT??!!! YOU MEAN I...

She nodded. My face turned a deep shade of red. I was so embarrassed. I gathered my things hurriedly and dashed out of the restroom. As I almost exited, I said a soft "Sorry" to Ze and dashed out in embarrassment.

That was our meeting... Embarrassing isn't it?

And I never knew how he managed to track me down even though we were in different faculties. And faculties that one would have thought would NEVER cross paths...

This was a mystery that he would take with him to his grave, cos he refused to tell me even though I've asked him a million times when we dated...

Anyway, he tracked me down somehow, found me at my faculty bus stop waiting for the bus late one Valentine's Day evening, when I had stayed behind late to study, as I had no Valentine. So books became my boyfriend for the day when everybody else were celebrating with their beloved.

I was yawning at the bus stop, while listening to my ipod. He sat himself beside me and pulled one of my eye phones out, making me turn over to look at him.

Jae: Who...

I turned and jumped off the seat immediately, dropping my bag, file, and books onto the floor.

Jae: Oh no!!!

I dashed back to pick up my stuff from the floor, trying to squat as far from him as humanly possible while doing so.

He smiled and bent down to help me pick up my stuff. I immediately increased my speed and grabbed everything, except a book near his feet.

Ze: Here...

He took it up and passed it to me.

Jae: Thanks...

I reached out my hand to take the book back, but he held on to it still. I gave another tug. He gave a tug back, and pulled me towards him. I fell onto him. Again. Faces inches apart. Again. I shot away from him by instinct.

Ze: Are you ALWAYS so clumsy?

Jae: Yeah... My apologies for my clumsiness... I'm a klutz...

Ze: *giggles and stands up* Nice to meet you... I'm Ze...

He extended his hand towards me. I stood up, took it and shook it. He gave my book back to me. I turned back to look at the road, hoping that the bus would come NOW!!!

Ze: Well... aren't you gonna introduce yourself?

Jae: Oh... Erm... I'm Jae... I'm in the...

Ze: Medicine faculty... Second year...

Jae: How come you know?

I was surprised. I looked straight at him for the first time.

Ze: Cos I asked around... I needed to know who was the girl who stole my first kiss in the men's restroom...

I looked away in embarrassment.

Jae: Sorry about that... I didn't mean to...

Ze: It's okay... I don't mind...

Jae: You don't?

I turned back and looked at him curiously. How can anyone not mind that their first kiss was not with someone they loved?!!!

Ze: Yeah... Cos it was a very adorable girl who stole it...

I darted my eyes away to avoid eye contact with him, as my face was already heating up like a pressure cooker.

He walked over and stood in front of me.

Ze: Happy Valentine's Day...

Jae: Oh same to you... Happy Friendship Day...

Ze: This is for you...

He held out a small box that was beautifully wrapped.

Jae: For me?!!!

Ze: Yeah... Happy Valentine's Day...

Jae: You sure you didn't get the wrong person? Are you looking at giving this to my coursemate instead? Cos I can pass this to her for you...

Ze: No... It's for you...

Jae: Thanks...

I took the box awkwardly.

Ze: Aren't you going to open it?

Jae: Oh... Alright...

I opened the box, there was a heart-shaped white chocolate inside with pink words "eat me". And a note saying...
Be mine?
PS: Eat the chocolate if the answer is yes.

I stared at it in silence. My heart started pounding like mad. My face was now burning beyond a normal person's body temperature. I was probably feverish. I looked up at him in surprise. He looked back at me with anticipation. He wanted to know my answer.

He's actually not too bad... Quite a good catch actually... Cos he was in sports, so naturally his body was good... His eyes were very big and captivating with long and thick eyelashes that framed his eyes... And when he smiled, he looked very adorable, like a little boy... And he even knows that I preferred white chocolate over other chocolates... Amazing...

I found myself reaching in for the chocolate and taking a bite from it...

Rainbow 彩虹 - Chapter 1

Chapter 1: Childhood mates...

This is my story. My name is Jae. But I'm not a guy. I'm a girl. My parents had always wished for a son, that's what I was given a rather unisex name that could be both male or female. My parents lived next door to their best friends. The four of them met in university years and were close to each other. They went to the same course, the same co-curricular activities, and even got married together. The two wives had made a pact to let their children marry each other if they bore a son and daughter each, and if they were both the same sex, they could be god-siblings. They were THAT close.

Things weren't always how you want them to be. My parents got pregnant much earlier than their best friends. In fact 6 years earlier to be exact. No doubt there was disappointment. But these kind of things couldn't be pre-arranged. So...

I was born in 1990. And 6 years later, my parents' best friends had a son. Since our age gap was so large. I could carry their baby son when I went to the hospital to visit them with my parents. His name is Joong. He is a very cute baby boy, with wide and big eyes filled with curiosity.

Ever since young, we always played together. Since we stayed next door to one another, we even went to the same schools. I usually would be leaving the school when he entered it, but we went to the same schools. Just not at the same time. Therefore, he could re-use my textbooks, etc. Or if he had questions, he would ask me and I would be the patient little tutor who answered all his questions.

I remember very clearly one incident that was really etched in my mind... It was when I was 12... And Joong was only 6...

One day while Joong was walking back from school, I was just being bullied by the neighbourhood group of kids, and I was cornered. He had ran over and pushed them aside, despite being smaller than them, and blocked me from them.

Joong: GO AWAY!!! OR I'LL TELL MY OMMA TO TELL YOUR OMMAS THAT YOU'RE BULLYING JAE-NUNA!!!

Bully: *sniggers sarcastically* Just WHO do you think YOU are? Huh? SHORTIE!!!

The bullies started pushing little Joong, who was pushed backwards towards me, cos he was too small to fight against them.

Jae: Joongie-ya, let's just ignore them and go...

Joong glared at them defiantly. One of the bullies pushed him really hard and he fell onto the ground. I immediately bent over to try to help him up. They walked towards us and surrounded us.

Joong: Don't you dare...

Then they started hitting us, I immediately grabbed hold of Joong and tried to shield his small body from the blows. After 10 minutes of continuous hitting, kicking and punching...

Adult: I wonder what's up in the cinemas today... Work was so boring today...

Bullies: RUN!!! There's someone here!!!

The bullies heard voices of adults and fled the scene, leaving the two of us in the small alley. I let go of Joong and checked him for injuries.

Jae: Joongie, gwenchanayo (are you okay)? Are you hurt anywhere?

He shook his head in shock. His arms were slightly bruised, but there were no other injuries. He raised his hand and caressed my cheek. I felt a sharp pain when he did that.

Joong: Jae-nuna... You're bleeding...

His small hand came back down covered with blood. My blood. His eyes started tearing.

Jae: It's okay Joongie... Nuna's alright... I'm just glad you're okay... Next time don't come over if you see these bullies cornering me... Just run home and tell your omma and appa...

Joong: Nuna... I want to grow up faster... So I can protect you from anyone who bullies you...

He hugged me. My eyes welled with tears when I heard him say that. It was so sweet.

Joong: Why are you crying nuna? Is it very painful?

He caressed my cheek again with his small hand.

Jae: Anio... It's not painful...

Joong: Don't cry nuna... Cos Joongie loves Jae-nuna the most... I want you to be my bride when I grow up!!!

He smiled happily at me and gave me a kiss on my lips.

Chapter 60: Party... It's Party.. Let's Party On!!!!!

Jaejoong: U-know, where are we going?

U-know: You'll find out when we're there. Don't worry. We're not going sell you off to someone else.

Max: Hyung, you've got to trust us.

Jaejoong: Alright.

U-know and Max were both holding to Jaejoong's hands, each on one side. They were afraid that Jaejoong would slip away and run back to Kiki.

After walking for a while, they reached a bridal shop and entered the shop. Jaejoong was very surprised and confused. He could not figure out what was Jaejoong and U-know doing.

Jaejoong: Guys, wait a minute! Why are you bringing me into the bridal shop?

Fianlly, U-know and Max decided that it was time for them to reveal the secret plan to Jaejoong. But, they kept the concept of the wedding from Jaejoong.

U-know: We are getting you ready for the engagement party.

Jaejoong (looking confused): Huh? What engagement party? I thought it is on the last day of our trip?

Max: Nope, Hyung. We think it is better to bring the party forward. Cos, you and Nuna might be too tired to enjoy the fabulous programme that we have.

Jaejoong: Oh, okay. So, where's my jagiya?

U-know: You mean your yeobo?

Jaejoong(shyly): Yeah.

Max: Don't worry about Nuna. She's in good hands with Theo.

U-know: Yeah, you can trust my yeoja chingu. Don't you guys know that she's the best?

Max: Hyung, can you stop being so mushy..... It's giving me goosebumps.

Jaejoong: Yeah. Even I'm having the goosebumps too.

U-know: Jaejoong, don't forget that I've learnt this from you.

Jaejoong: What?!!! Me?? When was I ever that mushy?

U-know and Max (said in unison): When you're with Kiki.

U-know and Max looked at each other and started laughing.

U-know: Oh my..... Great minds think alike.

Max: Yeah.. Hyungs, enough of joking around... We've got to get Jaejoong-hyung all ready by evening or else we won't make it in time for the party. We've got a lot of things to do. Hair, makeup, clothes, shoes.....

U-know: Oh yeah. I almost forget about it.

Then, Max and U-know brought Jaejoong into the fitting room.

When Jaejoong entered the fitting room, he was shocked to see that there's no suit or tuxedo for him to wear. Hanging on the wall was a pair of long and white bridal gown. Jaejoong went out of the fitting room, thinking that U-know and Max had made a mistake.

Jaejoong: Max, U-know. I think you guys made a mistake. Why isn't there any suit or tux for me to wear.

U-know: There is no mistake about it. You're going to wear that bridal gown for the party.

Max: Yeah. I bet it's going to look good on you.

Jaejoong: But... But... I can't possibly be wearing a gown and Kiki wears one too.

Max: Nuna isn't going to wear a gown. She's going to wear a suit.

Jaejoong: What?!!! You mean we are switching our identities for the party!!!!

U-know: Yeah. Isn't that going to be fun? Don't worry. You're going to look beautiful in that gown. And, you've cross dressed for our Vacation drama before. All of us think that you will look great.

Jaejoong: But, this is Kiki and my engagement party. It's like once in a life time. Besides, I want it to be memorable.

Max: Hyung, it's going to be memorable. Think of it in another way. Not every one is game to try out something different from the usual tradition.

Jaejoong: But...

U-know: No more buts. Just go on with it. It's going to be fun.

Before Jaejoong could put up with any resistance, Max and U-know had dragged Jaejoong into the fitting room. Jaejoong had no choice but to admit defeat and follow out the plans that the guys had for him.

Kiki and Theo were heading back to the house. Kiki sensed that something was not right.

Kiki: Theo, I thought you wanted to show me that pair of skirt that you're eyeing?

Theo: Oh. I suddenly decided that I don't really like it.

Kiki: Huh? You're really very fickle minded. I hope you're not that fickle when it comes to U-know.

Theo: I won't be.

When the girls entered the house, Kiki was surprised to see unfamiliar faces. She stopped Theo from walking any further towards the "strangers".

Kiki (whispering to Theo): Theo, could this people be burglars? Or even worse, Cassiopiea had found out about us, and they are here for revenge.

Theo (whispered back to Kiki): Relax, Kiki. They are just the make up artist and hair stylist.

Theo pulled Kiki in the direction of the "strangers".

Kiki: Huh? Why are those people doing here?

Then, Theo made Kiki sit on a chair. And, the hair stylist started to work on Kiki's hair.

Theo: They are here to get you all dressed up for the party.

Kiki was feeling very confused now. She thought that they were supposed to be having games. But, instead, there was a party that was going to take place.

Kiki: What party?

Theo: Jaejoong and your engagement party. We plan to give you a surprise. We thought that you guys will be too tired to enjoy yourselves after the games.

Kiki: Oh, that's so sweet of you guys. And, by the way, where's Jaejoong?

Theo: Jaejoong? He's with the guys. We decided to separate you guys, so Jaejoong will get some sort of surprise when he sees you at the party.

Kiki: Okay.

Kiki seated on the chair patiently, allowing the hair stylist to style her hair, placing bobby pins and spraying loads of hair spray on her hair. The stylist had bunned up her hair nicely into a classy bun. After that, the makeup artist started to work on Kiki's face, giving her a natural sun kissed look. When the stylist and makeup artist had finished their work, they left the house.

Theo: Kiki, we're finally done. Why don't you go into the room and get dressed while I get myself ready for the party too. I think you can manage right?

Kiki: Yeah, don't worry about me. I can handle it myself.

Kiki entered the room, expecting to be seeing either a bridal gown or a pair of dress. To her surprise, she saw a set of suit that was hanging on the cupboard. She left the room to find Theo.

Kiki: Theo!! Where are you?

Theo: I'm here. In my room.

Kiki entered Theo's room.

Kiki: Why is there a suit in my room? Shouldn't it be some sort of dress?

Theo: You're supposed to wear that for the party. I think you'll look really suave in it.

Kiki: But, I'm the so called "bride". Shouldn't I be at least wearing something feminine? And, what's Jaejoong wearing?

Theo: Oh, I forgot to tell you something. Erm... You see. Jaejoong is wearing the bridal gown, while you wear the suit.

Kiki: Huh? Are you serious?

Theo: Yeah.

Kiki: But, isn't it weird?

Theo: Nope. It's going to be fun. Believe me.

Kiki: I know that Jaejoong would look much prettier than me in a gown. But, isn't it a little too extreme?

Theo: It's something memorable. Don't you want your engagement party to be special? After all, it's once in a life time.

Kiki was feeling a little doubtful. She did not know if Jaejoong was going to be happy about it.

Kiki: I'm fine with it. But, I'm worried that Jaejoong might not like the idea.

Theo: Don't worry. U-know just texted me. He said that everything is going smoothly over at his side. Jaejoong had no choice but to succumb to U-know's and Max's order. Hahahah....

Kiki: Oh. Okay.

Xiah, Micky and Fifi were busy decorating the function room that they had booked. White ribbons, laces, cloth, and even roses were shrew all on the floor around the whole room.

Fifi: Guys, there isn't much time left. So, we need to hurry up. I still have to get dressed and do my hair and makeup. Micky, are you done with the arch? And, can you tell Junsu to be quick with the back drop?

Fifi was decorating the chairs while Micky was working on the arch and Xiah on the backdrop.

Micky: I'm almost done. Junsu ya, are you close to do yet?

Xiah: Yeah.

Xiah looked at his watch, and there was only an hour and a half left before the rest started coming in.

Xiah: Fifi, why don't you go back to the house and get ready? You can leave the place here to Micky and I.

Fifi was still feeling a little jealous of the incident that happened earlier, and she did not feel like talking to Xiah at all.

Fifi (continued with her work): It's alright. I will leave together with you guys.

Micky: Fifi, you can really leave the place to the both of us. Girls need much more than to get ready than us guys.

Fifi: Nah, I don't really need that much time to get ready. Anyway, I'm not the main star of tonight.

Xiah stopped what he was doing, and walked up to Fifi. He then stopped Fifi from what she was doing and started to push her from her back to head towards the exit.

Xiah: Fifi, go and get changed now. We can handle this.

Fifi was rather irritated by Xiah.

Fifi: I've brought my clothes and makeup along. I can get changed in the toilet later. You don't have to worry about me. So, can I continue with my work?

Xiah's thoughts: Why is Fifi becoming so cold all of a sudden? What's wrong with her? Maybe it's the stress of finishing everything on time.

Xiah: Oh, okay. If you need anything......

Before Xiah could finish his sentence, Fifi walked away and she was back to her work.

Fifi: Micky, is the sound system all done? And, those music that we are using for the party, is it all prepared?

Micky: I've checked the sound system. It's fine. But, the music, I haven't had the time to prepare it.

Xiah: Why don't I do it? Anyway, I'm almost done with the backdrop.

Fifi: Oh. Alright.

About, an hour before the rest arrived, everything is completed.

Right in the front of the room was a small little stage. The back drop was in a shade of baby pink and it had the words, " Jaejoong and Kiki" printed on it. The backdrop also had 2 hearts, which were made up of white roses, which encircled the words. A distance away from the stage, there was an arch decorated with pink roses. From the main door to the arch, there was a long stretch of white silk cloth. This path was meant for Kiki and Jaejoong to walk on when they make their grand entrance. The chairs, which were clothed in white silk with a pale pink ribbon tied at the back, in the room were arrange in a semi circle.

Xiah (makes his dolphin sound): YIPPEE!!!!! We're done. We'd better get ourselves ready.

Fifi: Then, I'll see you guys later. I've got to go now. Bye.

Fifi left the room.

Xiah: Micky, what's wrong with Fifi? Why does she feel so weird today? It seems like she is ignoring us.

Micky: I don't think she is ignoring ME. I think it's YOU that she is ignoring.

Xiah: Why? What happened?

Micky: Ya, Kim Junsu, don't tell me that you don't know?

Xiah (confused): Nope.

Micky: She's jealous.

Xiah (scratches his head): Why? I don't get it.

Micky: That girl earlier. Don't you remember talking to her in such friendly terms?

Xiah: Oh, you mean Julieang? But, why?

Micky: YA! KIM JUNSU! Are you really a dolphin or what? Don't you get it? Fifi likes you that's why she is jealous. And, it's that simple.

Xiah: Huh? Are you serious? Fifi likes me? YAY!!! YIPPEEE!!!!!!

Xiah's thoughts: Fifi likes me? Hahahahah.... I'm so happy!!!!! I can't believe it.

Xiah started to pranced around the room.

Micky: Sigh... That dolphin.

Jaejoong and Kiki entered the function room, with her hands holding his arm. In the background, "Miduhyo" was played as the couple entered the room. Every one was standing on either side of the aisle, and clapping.

While walking in through the entrance, Kiki tried so hard to stop herself from laughing. Jaejoong looked so beautiful in the dress.

Kiki's thoughts: Oh my... How can a guy look so beautiful despite wearing a gown? I don't even think I can look as beautiful as him... I'm so lucky to have a guy that have both femininity and masculinity.

Jaejoong was pretty amused by Kiki's outfit too. He thought Kiki was really beautiful even though she was not in a dress.

Jaejoong's thoughts: My jagiya never fails to surprise me. I thought she will look weird wearing a suit. But, she carries the look very well. It really suits her. It brings out her strong side as a woman. Now, I will have another reason to love her even more.

The couple walked on the white silk cloth. Then, they stood underneath the arch.

Jaejoong (holding Kiki's hands): I know how crazy Cassiopieans can be, so I know it might be hard for you. I don't know how things will be like in the future. But no matter what happens, you will always have the first place yeogi,(points to his heart)... in my heart. I will love you forever and ever... Yongwonhi... Yak-ssok... Sarangheyo.... And, you look beautiful no matter what you are wearing...

Kiki: I know how crazy cassiopieas can be too... Cos don't forget I am one too. But I'm not korean. So I'm not sooo crazy. But miduhyo... I'll be strong for you... Cos.... Sarangheyo!!!

Then, Jaejoong gave Kiki as kiss on her cheeks.

After the couple had done their love confession to each other, the rest of TVXQ went up to the stage to dedicate a song for the couple, while the couple were allowed to sit down and rest. They sang a series of songs in accapella. They sang "Forever Love", "Proud" and "My Little Princess".

When the performance was finished, dinner was next in line.

Max: Yay! It's dinner time.

Max was really happy that the whole ceremony was done. Everyone was seated on the table.

Jaejoong: Max, how can you only think of food now? It's your Hyung's engagement party.

Jaejoong gave Max a "one touch" on Max's arm.

Max: Hyung!!

Max lifted his hands. He wanted to hit Jaejoong too. Jaejoong was in a defensive X pose, all ready to fend off the attacker. But, Max resisted. Max knew that it was Jaejoong's big day, and he didn't want to ruin Jaejoong's day by hitting him.

Max: I'll let you off this time.

Kiki was rather amused by Jaejoong's action.

Kiki (smiling to herself): Jaejoong, you never fail to amuse me... You hit Max and expect him to not retaliate? And then immediately worry and start to defend yourself? Ha ha ha...

Theo: Guys, can we eat now? The food's turning cold.

U-know: Yeah. Ppalli. We still have my favourite dance segment later.

After dinner, romantic ballads music was played to allow the couples to dance.

Jaejoong (stretched his hand out): Kiki, may I have a dance with you.

Kiki (places her hands on Jaejoong's hand): Yes.

Kiki allowed Jaejoong to lead her to the dance floor. Kiki's hands were around Jaejoong's arms and Jaejoong's was on Kiki's waist. They danced to the tempo of the music.

Jaejoong (whispering into Kiki's ear): Kamsa hamnida for making me the happiest man on earth...

Kiki (whispering back into Jaejoong's ear): Joongie-ah... Sarangheyo...

Kiki closed her eyes and leaned on Jaejoong's chest, allowing him to lead her as they danced.

Theo: Okay.

U-know and Theo, too, left the table and headed towards the dance floor. They wrapped their arms around each other's body, and moved gracefully with the music.

Seeing that his Hyungs had the chance to dance with their yeoja chingu and fiancé, he too wanted to dance with Fifi.

Xiah got up from his chair and walked towards Fifi.

Xiah (stretched out his hands): May I have the honour to have a dance with you?

After going through the ceremony for Jaejoong's and Kiki's engagement, Fifi too wanted to have that special one.

Fifi: Erm....

Micky: Just grant his request. Can't you see how much he wants to dance with you?

Max: Just say yes.

Fifi: But.....

Micky: If not, do you want another 2 choices. Max or me?

Fifi: Erm..... Alright... In this case, I'd rather choose to dance Junsu...

Fifi, too left for the dance floor with Xiah.

Max: What does she mean by that man!!! Are we THAT bad?

Micky: Anio Changminnie... I don't know about you... But I'M TOO GOOD for her...

Micky escapes to the dance floor, leaving Max at the table, who scurries to run after Micky to try to hit him.

Chapter 59: Engagement Prelude

Both Fifi and Theo were in their room, lying on their beds.

Fifi: Ah! I finally thought of something interesting for the engagement party. Theo, do you want to hear about it?

Theo was pretty tired after a long day of touring round the island. She was not interested in what was Fifi saying. All she wanted to do was have a good night's rest, and that was it.

Theo: Erm... NO!

Fifi: Pretty please. I think every one's asleep by now. So, it's only you that I can tell that to. I think we could have the same concept as the show, "It Started With a Kiss". So, Theo, what do you think of this idea? Good?

No reply.

Fifi: Theo? Are you asleep yet?

Still no reply.

Fifi got up from her bed, and headed towards Theo's bed. She leaned over and check whether if Theo's asleep. In fact, Theo was already fast asleep. But, Fifi really wanted to hear some comments about her plans. Thus, she did not care if Theo was going to scold her if she woke Theo up from her sleep.

Fifi tapped Theo's shoulders.

Fifi: Theo??!! Are you really asleep? Can you not sleep first?

Theo was woken up. Now, she was really very angry and pissed.

Theo (irritated): FIFI!!!! What are you trying to do? Can't you see that I'm sleeping?

Fifi: But..... I thought you were pretending to be asleep. So... I ...

Theo (sounded serious): So, can I sleep now? And, don't you dare wake me up again until the next morning.

Before Theo went back to sleep, she glared at Fifi, making sure that Fifi understood Theo's meaning.

Fifi's thought: Sigh.... Now that every one's asleep, who's going to hear if my idea was going to be good? Ah, I know. I shall go to Xiah and Micky's room. I think they might be still awake. Maybe Micky is still working on his music.

Fifi went over to the guys' room and knocked on their door.

*Knock Knock*

Micky: Who's that?

Fifi: Me. Can I come in?

Xiah: Fifi??!!!! Yeah, sure.

Fifi entered the room.

Xiah was lying on his bed, listening to his Ipod. While Micky was on the desk, working on his labtop.

Once Fifi entered, Xiah immediately sat up, and started to adjust his hair, making sure that his hair was not in a mess. Micky turned around.

Xiah: Fifi, why are you still up at such a late hour? What's the matter?

Fifi: Nothing. I just thought of something for the party. And, I think it's going fun. Theo is sleeping, and doesn't want to hear my ideas at all. So, I thought you guys might be still awake. Since, you guys are the ones planning the party with me, I should share my idea with you.

Xiah's thoughts: YAY! Fifi's not leaving me out of the party planning. I'm so happy.

Micky: So, what's your idea?

Xiah: Micky ya. How can you let a girl stand at the door while we are all comfortably seated down?

Micky: Oh, I forgot. Fifi, why don't you sit on the bed?

Fifi seated herself comfortably on Micky's bed.

Fifi: Oh yeah. As I was saying, I thought of a new concept for the engagement. We can have something that is so not traditional, something that is out of the box. It would be like a cross-dressed party. Kiki could be dressed smartly in a tux while Jaejoong could be in a long, flowy gown. How does that sounds? Interesting?

Xiah and Micky had doubts about it.

Xiah: Erm.... Does that mean that all the guys will have to dress up as girls?

Micky: I don't want to be wearing a skirt.

Fifi: No... No... No... It's only Jaejoong and Kiki who are going to dressed up differently. The rest of us can just wear our normal clothes.

Micky: That sounds interesting. I think we should definitely do this.

Xiah: But, we can't tell Jaejoong-hyung and Kiki about this. I think that they are going to protest. So, we can only reveal it on the actual day.

Micky: Oh yeah. Why don't we bring it forward? Like have it tomorrow night?

Fifi: Why?

Micky: If we had games first, then it would be too tiring.

Xiah: Huh? So, you are cutting down on my games? Then what about all the planning that I've done?

Micky: No, I mean bring the party forward, and not cut down on your games. You get what I mean?

Xiah: Oh. Okay.

Fifi: Why not we get the rest of them up and ask them for their suggestion?

Micky: Okay. You go get Theo while Junsu and I get U-know and Max. We will meet back in my room here. Okay?

Fifi: Alright.

The trio went on with their mission.

After some time, everyone had gathered in Xiah and Micky's room, with the exception of Kiki and Jaejoong.

Theo(grumbled): Why are we all gathering here? It's so late and I want to sleep.

U-know: Yeah. What's so important that you guys can't tell us in the morning?

Micky: Guys, it's really something very important. I promised that this is going to be quick.

Max: Okay. Hyung, you better make it quick.

Micky: Okay. Fifi was thinking of having Kiki and Jaejoong do a switch in their clothes during the party, but they will not be aware of it. And, they would think that the party is going to be on the last day here on the island. But, we are going to have it tomorrow night.

Before Micky even finished his sentence, Theo had already fallen asleep. She was sleeping on U-know's lap and U-know could not bear to wake her up.

U-know: Hmmm.... Okay. This sounds exciting. I have no objections. But before we continue, can I carry Theo back to her room first?

Max: Hyung, there's no time for you to do that. You can just let her sleep here, while we discuss. We all want to sleep.

U-know: Oh. Okay.

Fifi: But, what are we going to do in the day?

Max: That's easy. U-know-hyung can say that there are still places that we haven't visit yet. So, we can continue touring.

Xiah: Huh? I thought we were going to have games?

Micky: Ya, Junsu. Why are always thinking about your games?

Xiah: I'm really proud to plan the games by myself.

Max: Hyung, we have to be on track. We can't stray.

U-know: Why don't we have a shopping trip in the morning? We can say that this is for us to shop for clothes for the party or even casual shopping. Then, we will have games after lunch. How does that sounds?

Fifi: SHOPPING??? I'd love to.

Xiah, Micky, Max: We're fine with that.

U-know: Then after that, Theo will be in charge of getting Kiki ready for the wedding. While, Max and I will get Jaejoong ready. And, Junsu, Micky and Fifi can get the venue and other stuffs needed for the party. Everyone fine with the arrangements?

All: Yeah.

All of them then discuss the detailed plan for the wedding.

Everyone was sitting at the dinning table, having their breakfast.

Jaejoong: So, what's our plan for today? Are we going to have a free-and-easy day, so I can spent some private time with my Kiki?

U-know: Sort of. We're going to be shopping on the morning. And, after lunch, we would be having games.

Jaejoong (grumbling): Games? Are you serious? That means I can't spend time with Kiki.

Xiah: Hyung, I took a lot of effort to come up with the games. And, don't you worry, you're going to enjoy your time today. I'm sure of that.

Jaejoong: You better make the day unforgettable or else I won't let you off. Hahahaha.....

Micky: If you don't trust Junsu, at least trust Fifi and I. We did give some comments on his games. So, it definitely won't be solely on soccer. Anyway, there aren't many shops.

Kiki: But, can we cut down on the games and just go shopping for the whole day? I'm really quite a shopaholic. One morning isn't going to be enough for me.

Max: Nuna, don't worry. The time is definitely enough. Trust me.

Theo: Anyway, I think shopping is quite meaningless at times.

Fifi: Sigh... You and your shopping theory. I wonder what interests you. Is it only U-know and food?

Theo: Whatever.....

After the guys finished their breakfast, they set off to the downtown area at around 10 in the morning.

U-know: So, we do our own free and easy shopping, then we'll meet back here at around one and we'll go for lunch. And, guys, remember what you are supposed to do....

All: Okay.

Jaejoong and Kiki were confused.

Kiki: Chotto (Wait)... What are we supposed to do, U-know?

Jaejoong: Are we supposed to buy something special? Are you guys are supposed to shop for our engagement gift?

U-know: Erm... Erm... Yeah... Sort of....

Kiki and Jaejoong, U-know and Theo, left by themselves , leaving the rest standing there.

Fifi: Girls, wait for me. Aren't you girls supposed to be shopping with me? Why are you going off with your namja chingus? And leaving your yeoja chingu here?

Kiki stopped and turned around.

Kiki: Sorry Fifi, I want to spend more time with Jaejoong. And, you have 3 guys to accompany you.

Kiki then left with Jaejoong, with Kiki holding on to Jaejoong's arms.

Next, it was Theo who turned back.

Theo: Sorry, girl. My namja chingu is more important. Bye. Have fun.

Theo, too, went off with U-know, holding his hands.

Fifi (grumbling angrily): Argh... You girls are so mean.... Leaving your chingu alone for your guys... ARGH!!!! I can't believe this.

Xiah: You don't have to be so upset. There's still me here to accompany you...

Micky: What? Did I hear that you want to accompany Fifi and leave Max and I alone?

Xiah: Erm..... Erm... What I mean was the 3 of us.

Max: Really? I thought I heard something like....

Before Max could spout out any more nonsense, Xiah went up to him. And, Xiah quickly covered Max's mouth.

Xiah: Come on, let's shop for a while before we start preparing for the party.

Xiah tried to change the topic to save himself out of the embarrassing situation.

Fifi: Sigh... How am I supposed to enjoy my shopping spree with 3 guys here who don't know anything about the art of shopping.

Micky: Hey, don't belittle us. We have a good sense for fashion. Maybe, except for Junsu.

Xiah: YA!! PARK YOOCHUN!!!! I do have a good sense of fashion alright.

Max: Whatever. Fifi, let's ignore these 2 guys and start shopping.

Jaejoong and Kiki were going from one shop to another, each of them carrying almost 5 shopping bags in each hand. Both of them really had a fruitful shopping trip.

As they were walking down the streets, a pair of boots on display caught Kiki's attention. She stopped and pulled Jaejoong to look at the boots.

Kiki: Joongie, quick. Come and see this pair of boots in the shop front which is on display! Don't you think that this look fabulous? I've already been searching for this kind of boots for very long.

Then, Kiki pulled Jaejoong into the shop before he could even reply. She went up to the sales girl and ask for assistance to try on the pair of boots. Then, she placed herself comfortably on the sofa. And, Jaejoong sat beside her.

After a while, the sales girl came back with the pair of boots and Kiki tried it on. Then, she stood up and walked towards the mirror.

Kiki: Joongie, how does this look?

Jaejoong went towards Kiki and stood behind her. He, then, placed his face so close to hers.

Jaejoong (whispering into her ears): You'll look beautiful in anything...

Kiki: Kombawayo, Joongie. You think I should get this?

Jaejoong: Yeah. And, I want a pair of boots to match yours. Why don't we each get a pair of lover's boots?

Kiki: But, the one I'm wearing is a pair of lady boots. How can they have your size?

Jaejoong: Don't you know that girls these days have big feet? Maybe, I can wear the biggest size in the store. Or, I can find something similar.

Jaejoong turned to ask the sales girls to ask her for the biggest size.

Sales girl: Sir, this is a pair of unisex boots. So, I think the biggest size could fit you.

Jaejoong: Oh, then I'll take size 10.5 please.

Jaejoong tried the pair of shoes, and it fit perfectly. Jaejoong and Kiki wore the pair of newly bought boots out of the store and continued with their shopping trip.

U-know and Theo were at the clothing store.

Theo was browsing through the rack where the dresses were. She was hoping that she could find a pair of short dress for the party tonight. U-know was standing beside her, monitoring the type of dresses that she had chosen. Every pair of dress that Theo had set her eyes on was rejected by U-know. He would either say that the dress was too short or it was too revealing. Theo was rather frustrated. She was someone who was very fond of wearing skirts or dresses that are above her knee. But, U-know insisted that she find a pair of dress that was covering her knees.

At last, Theo found a pair of dress that she really liked. She did not care if U-know was going to reject his offer.

Theo: U-know, I don't care if you are going to reject this or not. But, I'm going to try it.

Theo headed off to the fitting room, without letting U-know have a single look at the dress.

U-know: Wait. I haven't even see the dress yet.

After a while, Theo came out from the fitting room. The dress was a simple purple tube dress with black trimmings. It was mid-thigh length. However, U-know was definitely not going to let her wear that dress. It was too short according to U-know's standards.

U-know: Theo, this dress is really too short. I don't think you should wear it.

Theo: But, I really like it. And, it's flattering.

U-know: If you really like it, you can buy it. But, on one condition.

Theo: What?

U-know: You must wear either a pair of long pants or leggings underneath the dress. I think you would look better. And, I like girls to wear a pair of long pants underneath. It makes them look refined.

Theo: But, this style is just not me. Please, U-know. Can I buy it? Please..... I promised that after that, I would not buy any skirts or dress that is above knee length.

U-know: Hmmm...... Alright.

Theo: Thank you. You're the best namja chingu.

At Xiah, Micky, Max and Fifi's side...

Fifi had bought quite a number of stuffs, and Xiah had voluntarily agreed to help her carry her stuff.

As the group were walking down the streets, they walked pass a girl. But, the girl called Xiah's name out of the blue.

Girl: Kim Junsu?

Xiah turned back, and the girl was someone that he knew.

He started to walk toward the girl, leaving the rest behind.

Xiah: Julieang?!!! I haven't seen you for such a long time. How have you been?

Fifi was feeling jealous all of a sudden. It seems that Xiah was rather friendly with the girl. Xiah continued to talk to the girl while the rest waited for him some distance away.

Fifi's thoughts: Who's this girl? And why is Junsu so friendly towards her... Argh... I don't really like this. Wait. Why am I getting all jealous now. I shouldn't be.

Fifi (whispering to Micky and Max): Do you guys know that girl? Junsu seems to be on very good terms with her.

Max: Nope. I think it might be his high school classmates or friend.

Micky: Fifi, do I smell something sourish? Are you jealous?

Fifi (tried to sound nonchalant): Jealous? Me? How can it be? Why would I be jealous?

Micky: Really?

Fifi: Yeah. Guys, why don't you wait for Junsu while I continue with my shopping? I don't think you guys will be interested in going with me. Bye.

Fifi continued with her shopping, leaving the guys to wait for Xiah.

Micky: I think Fifi is jealous.

Max: But, why? Junsu is just talking to his friend.

Micky: Oh my. Max, don't you get it? Fifi likes Junsu.

Max: Really? I didn't know that.

Micky: I think I better tell Junsu that Fifi had left.

Micky went up to Xiah and told him that Fifi had long gone.

Xiah: Sorry, Julieang. I'll talk to you another day. I've got to go. Bye.

Girl: Bye. Remember to keep in contact.

The guys went after Fifi. Xiah was the fastest one of them all. He caught up with Fifi within a short period of time.

Xiah: Fifi, why did you leave without telling me? I'm supposed to carry your shopping bags for today. Don't you remember it?

Fifi (pretended not to see Xiah): Erm.. I do remember.

After she finished her sentence, she continued walking, ignoring Xiah.

Xiah: Fifi, wait for me!!!!

Xiah walked as fast as he could, trailing behind Fifi.

Micky (screamed as he ran): JUNSU!!! FIFI!!! DON'T GO TOO FAR!!! WE'RE SUPPOSED TO MEET THE REST FOR LUNCH NOW!!!!

Fifi stopped walking, and turned around. She walked pass Xiah and towards Micky and Max.

Xiah's thought: What is Fifi thinking? Why is she ignoring me? Sigh... I can't figure this out.

Xiah followed Fifi as he tried to figure out what was happening.

Everyone had gathered back at the restaurant, enjoying their lunch. After finishing their dessert, their plan was put into action.

Micky: Guys, Junsu, Fifi and I need to do some preparations for the games. You guys can stay here for a while before coming back.

Xiah, Micky and Fifi then left the restaurant. At this moment, Jaejoong and Kiki were unaware that the party was going to take place in the evening.

U-know gave a signal to Max and Theo, making sure that they know what they are supposed to do.

U-know: Jaejoong, I need you to come somewhere with me before we start on the games. So, can we leave now?

Jaejoong: But... How about Kiki?

Kiki: It's alright, Jaejoong. I'll be fine. I still have Theo to accompany me.

Jaejoong: Are you sure that you don't need me to accompany you?

Kiki: Yeah. You can go ahead.

U-know: Oh yeah. Max, I need your help too. Let's go.

U-know led Jaejoong and Max out of the restaurant. They were heading towards the direction of the bridal shop.

After the guys left, Theo waited for a while before suggesting to leave the restaurant.

Theo: Kiki, I need you to help me see a dress. I don't know if it's nice.

Kiki: Sure. Why not?

The girls left the restaurant too. But, they were heading back to the house, where the make up artist was waiting for them to arrive.
