Chapter 22: The Moment of Truth
"Show, why don't we go on that roller coaster ride there. I always wanted to try that. It'll fun and exciting. I just love the adrenaline rush that goes through me when I'm on the ride".
"Yeah. Me too. We have got to go quickly before the crowd starts coming in".
Show stretched out his hands, " Come on Ting. Let's hurry before it's too late".
Ting grabbed hold of Show's hand and both of them started heading towards the most "exciting and fun" ride.
"Oh my!!! The queue is so long..... I wonder how long are we going to wait...." sighed Ting as the both of them were standing right at the back of the line.
"Don't be too impatient. Let me tell you a joke......"
"Guess what animal does not like to take a photo?"
"What??"
"I guess you don't know the answer.... Let me tell you.... It's the panda...."
"Why??"
"Cos' the photos that it takes always turn up in black and white...."
"HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAA..... Show.... You're really good at this..... You never fail to make me laugh.... HAHAHAHHAA......"
"Now you are not that grumpy anymore. I'm happy to see that. When you smile, it really make my day. All you must do from now is to smile. That's so simple right. I believe you can do that. Why don't you go and buy some cold drinks while I wait here in line for our turn?"
"Okay".
Ting walked to the nearest food stand to get the drinks. Ting was relieved that the queue in front of the stand was not long at all. There was only 3 people queueing up there, and the person at the counter was almost done. Thus, the waiting time would not be so long. Ting walked quickly towards the stand, hoping that when she reached the stand, the queue would not get longer.
"Aunty, could I have a bottle of mineral water. Thank you," said this guy standing right in front of the line.
The voice of the guy made Ting heart skipped a beat faster. It sounded familiar. It sounded like someone she knew. Someone who was close to her heart. What separate Ting and the familiar voice was only a middle-aged lady. Ting tried to move nearer to the front, just to get a glimpse. She could not put a face to this voice. It was hard. The voice seemed like someone that she wanted to forget badly, but on the other hand, it was something that she wanted to bury deep inside her heart.
Ting positioned herself closer and closer to the "aunty" in front of her, moving bit by bit closer to the front.
"CAN YOU STOP PUSHING!!!! DON'T YOU KNOW HOW TO QUEUE AND WAIT FOR YOUR TURN?" shouted the "aunty".
The loud booming voice from the "aunty" drew the attention of the guy that was at the counter. He turned around to find out what was going on. The first person that caught his attention when he turned round was....
"Ting!!! Is that you? What are you doing here?"
The moment the guy turned round, Ting was shocked. She was speechless. Her heart beat faster and faster. That guy.... That was the guy... The guy that she really wanted to bury it deep inside her heart or even forget him completely. That guy who was so selfish. That guy who did not discuss anything with her and made a decision all by himself. That guy that made her cried for many days.
"After all these tough time that I've gone through..... After trying so hard to forget him... Why? Why?.... Why did he have to appear now when I had completely threw him out of my mind? I'm happily with Show now..... But... But... He had to appear......." thought Ting.
"Ermm...... Ermm.... I don't think I know you, sir. I think you got the wrong person...." came the quick but hesitant reply from Ting.
Ting immediately walked away from the food stand, without buying the stuff she was here for. She knew that she did not want to see him anymore. She had to leave the place, leave Arron. She could not linger in the place any longer. The longer she stayed in his presence, her heart ache more.
"Wait for me, Ting!!! I think we need to....."
Before Arron could continue, Ting was running away from the scene. Upon seeing Ting's image moving further away from him, Arron started to chase Ting. He knew that this second chance he had was hard to come by. He needed to talk to Ting. He needed to explain things that he did not had the chance when he was leaving for the States.
Finally, Ting reached the queue for the rides, where Show was still queueing.
"Ting!! You are fast... but... I thought....you are buying... drinks?"
As Show was talking to Ting, Ting was trying to squeeze thought the crowd, just to get in place.
"Ermm... Errmm.... Oh yeah.. The queue was too long. I deiced that after the ride, we still could get a drink. So... I came back...."
"Oh.... That's alright. Anyway, the queue is moving quite fast. It'll be our turn soon".
"TING!!! TING!!! WHERE ARE YOU? TING......!!!!!"
"Ting, I think someone is calling you".
"I think you are hearing things. I don't hear anyone calling out my name".
"TING!!!!! TING!!!!!" the voice boomed even louder than before.
Ting could hear that voice calling out her name. She even knew who the person was. But, she did not want to acknowledge that voice. She did not want Arron to find out where she was. All she did was to block out his voice from her head, and pretend nothing was going on.
"WHO'S THAT LOOKING FOR TING? SHE'S HERE!!!!" Show shouted at the top of his voice, with his hands in the air waving.
"SHOW!!! WHAT DID YOU DO? STOP IT!!! LET'S GET OUT OF HERE!!!!"
Even before Ting could lead Show out of the queue, Arron had already found here whereabouts.
"Ting, we need to talk. Please."
"Wait a minute. Who are you? Why are you looking for my girlfriend?"
"YOUR GIRLFRIEND? But.... She's mine....."

Serendipity 奇缘 - Chapter 15
Chapter 15: Gone...
*BAM*
I collapsed onto the floor after the lift door closed completely. My ankle was hurting beyond my endurance limit. As I collapsed onto the floor, I realised that one of the makeshift bandages on my knees had fallen apart.
"Oh no... Jaejoong must have seen my injuries... I'd better get moving in case he turns back..."
I struggled to push myself up to a standing position, but to no avail. I fell back down onto the floor and the blood from my knee was slowly starting to form a small pool on the marble floor. I reached for my bag to dig for my mobile phone to call Fifi.
"Fifi... Where are you now?? Jaejoong's left already.... Can you come back??? I can't... I can't move by myself..."
"Oh gosh!!! I've just met Theo... We're on out way there now!!!"
"*sign*... I'd better sms him to let him know I'm fine... So that he won't worry..."

At TVXQ's minibus...
*It's time for love... Somebody to love...*
Jaejoong took out his phone and looked at the display. It was a sms from Kiki. Hurriedly he clicked on the message and looked at the contents...
Joongie, don't worry about me... I'm fine... I've Fifi and Theo to help me... Concentrate on your work, okay? I'll be listening to the radio programme... So don't brood over at the station... Don't let the others dominate the mikes... I wanna hear your voice... See you at the airport later... Missing u already... ;-) Kiki xoxo
Jaejoong smiled when he read the message. Kiki was the only person who was able to make him smile even when he was in the worst kind of mood.
"Who's that? Anyone we know?" Max asked meaningfully.
Jaejoong looked up from his mobile phone at Max. He glanced cautiously at his manager to check if he was suspicious. His manager was talking to the local record company representative on the arrangements for the night. Jaejoong looked back at Max and nodded his head while grinning.
"Oh, its your mum... So sweet of her..." Xiah announced loudly so that the entire bus could hear him.
Jaejoong smiled, "Yeh, she's asking me when we'll be going back and if we want her to cook any special dishes..."
"OHHH.... I miss her delicious cooking... Can't wait to go back..." U-Know quipped.
Everyone looked at U-Know, and Micky nudged U-Know.
"Yeah well... We're going back... TONIGHT... anyway..." Jaejoong murmured softly.
Micky patted Jaejoong on his back to console him.

After the radio show... At the airport...
"Theo... Fifi... Don't you think you gals overdid the bandaging a bit??? My knees look like rice dumplings now... And its just some scratches and cuts... And my ankle is even worst... It's like 3 times of my normal foot size!!! I can't even wear my shoe... People must think that I'm some pyscho who's escaped from the asylum or something..." I complained.
"It's not that bad... And anyway, if we don't bandage it properly, it's going to fall apart later in the commotion at the airport... So we better be safe than sorry..."
"I know.... But... Won't Jaejoong be even more worried if he sees all these??? I think I look like half a Egyptian mummy already..."
"*sign* He might be too surrounded by fans to notice it... Just bear with it... It's for your own good..."
I looked at Theo and felt a bit depressed, cos what she said was true... There were already so many fans at the airport... It would be near impossible for him to spot me amongst them... Much less to say, notice that my injuries were bandaged hideously...
Fifi nudged Theo and whispered, "Why did you go say that to her? You know she wants to see him one more time before he leaves..."
I limped over to a nearby bench to rest my swollen and pounding ankle, cos the bandage was so tight I felt like my arteries were pounding against the bandage as I moved. I couldn't help but feel terribly depressed. The physical pain from my injuries were no where near the emotional pain that I was going through right now. I felt like a part of me was going to be ripped away violently by fate... Forever...
Somehow I suddenly wished that nothing had happened during their publicity stay here, and I would be just like any other fan... Planning idol chasing strategies for their next visit...
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Loud screaming was heard and I could see a group of guys being ushered into the airport with a large group of screaming fans in toll.
I looked up and recognised the tallest Max in the group, being tugged along with the rest by a huge security. I struggled to get up, and limped towards the check in area. But they didn't stop at the check in area, they security ushered them all the way past the check in area, and they were heading towards the departure gate!!!
"KIKI!!! What's happening??? How come they aren't checking in???"
"I don't know..." I shoke my head in disbelief.
"Look gals, I can't move fast enough... Why don't you gals go check out the situation in front, and I'll try to catch up..."
"But you..."
"It's okay... I can... I can manage... slowly... by myself... You gals go ahead first..."
"Okay.... We'll rush back to let you know the situation okay? Theo, let's go... Hurry!"
As I limped slowly towards the departure gate, I couldn't see them at all, there were too many fans... Theo was right... There's just no possibility... That he'll even notice...

I dug out my mobile from my bag. It was Theo.
"Hello..."
"Kiki, they're going in!!! They're record label pre-checked in for them already... So they're going straight in!!! Hurry over now!!!"
"WHAT!!!"
I picked up the pace of my limping, and broke into a half-limping, half-hopping gait, trying to move faster. But no matter how hard I tried, I just wasn't fast enough...
When I reached the gate, they had already gone in...
And they were waving goodbye to the fans from behind the departure counter...
I wanted to go near to the glass wall for support, as well as to catch a glimpse of them before they leave... But there were just too many fans... I kept being pushed backwards...

After 15 minutes of waving and me being constantly pushed and shoved backwards...
The fans slowly started to disperse as the guys had already went in, and they weren't able to see them anymore...
I finally managed to get to the glass wall...
But they were already...
Gone...
The tallest Max was nowhere to be seen...
Neither was the buff U-Know...
Or the wavy haired Micky...
Or the sweet Xiah...
Or my beloved Jaejoong...
They were already...
Gone...
And not only my knees and ankle hurt like hell...
My heart has fallen onto the marbled floor and broke in a million small pieces that were cutting into my already injured feet...
I leaned against the glass wall and slided downwards slowly to a sitting position on the floor...
Unable to come to terms with what has just happened...

Destined 遐想 - Chapter 21
Chapter 21: Theme Park, Here We Come!
"Faster, Ning!!!! We are going to be late!!!!" shouted Jun as Ning was trailing behind him.
"Stop rushing me Jun!!! I'm walking quickly too!!!! I'm still very sleepy!!!!" said Ning as she opened her mouth and yawned, but still walking slowly behind Jun.
"Wake up!!!! Don't you remember we are very late!!!"
Once Jun finished his sentence, he started to walk towards Ning, grabbed her hand and started pulling her to make her walk faster.
"Okay!!! I'll walked faster....But... I'm still very sleepy..... Why don't you go first, I'll join you guys later after I get enough sleep?" asked Ning as she was being dragged.
"No!!! You can't do that!!! You are the one who planned this outing. You have to be there. Are you really that sleepy?"
"Yeah. So.... Can I go back??? Please????" pleaded Ning.
"Nope. You can't...... You have to go.... "
After finishing his sentence, Jun squatted down.
"Get up on my back. I'll piggy back you. You can sleep for a while before reaching the theme park".
"Thanks Jun!"
Right after Ning get onto Jun's back, she fell asleep immediately.

"There.... Jun's here...." screamed Zax as he spotted Jun approaching the group.
"Where's Ning? Jun's here already. Only Ning is not here yet. Where could she be?" questioned Milk.
"Yeah. Ning was the one who called us all her to the theme park. She not even here yet," complained Wilbur.
"I think she may be in bed still. Why don't I go and give her a call. You guys can go in first, while I head back to the resort to wake her up," said Ting.
"Jun, who's that girl on your back? Your new girlfriend? Don't think you have mentioned it to us," teased Toro as he saw Jun carrying someone on his back from a far.
Nobody was able to figure out who was the girl on Jun's back. The girl had her face buried on Jun's back, with only the back of her hair could be seen. Suddenly, the girl on Jun's back started to move and she woke up.
"Are we there yet?" mumbled the girl.
"Yes. I think you better wake up now. Everyone is here," replied Jun.
At this moment, everyone in the group were walking up to Jun. All of them were curious to find out who was this new girl in Jun's life. Everyone waited anxiously for the girl to lift her head up so that they could catch a glimpse of her.
"Alright...." said the girl as she slowly lifted her head, away from Jun's back.
As the girl lifted her head up to look at the surrounding, she was stunned and surprised to see everyone were walking closer towards the both of them. This was so embarrassing. How was she going to react to all these people? What was she supposed to say to them when questioned?
"Jun. This is bad. Everyone is going to know about this. Why don't you run off to some where, and you can put me down?" asked Ning.
"I can't do that now. They are already heading towards our direction. There's no way I can run away. Why don't we just face them?"
"NO... We can't do that!!! You can put me down then I'll......"
Before Ning could finished her sentence.....
"NING!!!!??????!!! Is that you????" shouted Ting in total surprise.
"When did the both of you?" questioned Milk.
"Ermmm..... Can you all please stop asking..... This is getting very awkward.... I don't know how am I going to answer this... But... The fact is that Ning and I are together... So... It doesn't matter when... Please guys... At this rate, you are going to make Ning embarrassed too...."
"Ohh.... Now I get the whole picture. I was wondering why was Jun with you when you came to look for me yesterday. Now I get it now. Guys, let's just stop teasing the both of them. We have to get on with our schedule right?" said Ying.
"Before we could continue anything.... Ning, I think you have to get down first before we can proceed right?" asked Wilbur.
Immediately, everyone started laughing. Among all these laughter and teasing, there was only one person who did not feel that good. It was Milk. When he saw both Jun and Ning together, his heart just dropped. It was as if his heart was broken into many small pieces. This type of feeling was something that even Milk himself could not explain at all. The pain cut his heart even deeper than the previous incident where Ning was injured.
"Am I worried that Ning would not be by my side anymore? That could not be the answer. Or is it that I didn't treat her as her sister? Could it be that she meant more to me than a sister? Could it be that I liked her all along? But.... But.... She's with Jun now. What more can I do? Should I just tell her how I felt? Or should I give her my blessings? I'm so confused now!!!! Maybe..... Maybe... I should protect her from afar, wishing her happiness," Milk thought to himself.
Ning got off Jun's back, and got her both of her feet on the ground.
"Jun, you better treat this little sister of mine properly. Or else..... I won't let you off. Do you understand?" Milk said sternly.
"I will, Milk. You don't have to worry....."
"Don't worry too much, Milk. I believe that Jun is a great guy. And ... Thanks. I think I'm the most fortunate person on earth to have you as my big brother. Thank you".
"Enough of all these guys. We should be playing and enjoying ourselves in the amusement park right? Let's go guys!!!" Show said excitedly.
"Yeah, that's right. Which ride should we go first? The roller coaster? Or the ferris wheel? Or even the carousel?" said Ting, supporting Show's suggestion.
"Why not we go on the most exciting ride first, leaving the least exciting ones towards the end?"
"Ermmm..... Can we don't go to those rides which height is a requirement there? Please?" pleaded Ying.
"That won't be any fun at all. Going to the amusement park would be all about the adrenaline rush and stuff. If there isn't any height involved, the element of fun wouldn't be there. Come on Ying. It wouldn't hurt to try".
"But..... But..... Why don't you guys go to those rides while I wait here".
"Stop it guys!!! If Ying doesn't want to take the rides, why don't you just leave her alone?" Roy started to flare up.
"It's alright, Roy. I can watch from afar. There's no problem with that".
"Alright. I'll accompany you while they are on the rides".
"Thank you".
"Why don't we spilt up in groups and then meet again for lunch? This will save time for all of us since everyone has a different likings for the rides in the park," suggested Tianqi.
"I'll go with Ting".
"I'll go with Roy".
"I'll go with Ning".
"That leaves the singles all alone. That's unfair. Never mind. We will all form the singles group. Hahahaha....."

Nobody was able to figure out who was the girl on Jun's back. The girl had her face buried on Jun's back, with only the back of her hair could be seen. Suddenly, the girl on Jun's back started to move and she woke up.
"Are we there yet?" mumbled the girl.
"Yes. I think you better wake up now. Everyone is here," replied Jun.
At this moment, everyone in the group were walking up to Jun. All of them were curious to find out who was this new girl in Jun's life. Everyone waited anxiously for the girl to lift her head up so that they could catch a glimpse of her.
"Alright...." said the girl as she slowly lifted her head, away from Jun's back.
As the girl lifted her head up to look at the surrounding, she was stunned and surprised to see everyone were walking closer towards the both of them. This was so embarrassing. How was she going to react to all these people? What was she supposed to say to them when questioned?
"Jun. This is bad. Everyone is going to know about this. Why don't you run off to some where, and you can put me down?" asked Ning.
"I can't do that now. They are already heading towards our direction. There's no way I can run away. Why don't we just face them?"
"NO... We can't do that!!! You can put me down then I'll......"
Before Ning could finished her sentence.....
"NING!!!!??????!!! Is that you????" shouted Ting in total surprise.
"When did the both of you?" questioned Milk.
"Ermmm..... Can you all please stop asking..... This is getting very awkward.... I don't know how am I going to answer this... But... The fact is that Ning and I are together... So... It doesn't matter when... Please guys... At this rate, you are going to make Ning embarrassed too...."
"Ohh.... Now I get the whole picture. I was wondering why was Jun with you when you came to look for me yesterday. Now I get it now. Guys, let's just stop teasing the both of them. We have to get on with our schedule right?" said Ying.
"Before we could continue anything.... Ning, I think you have to get down first before we can proceed right?" asked Wilbur.
Immediately, everyone started laughing. Among all these laughter and teasing, there was only one person who did not feel that good. It was Milk. When he saw both Jun and Ning together, his heart just dropped. It was as if his heart was broken into many small pieces. This type of feeling was something that even Milk himself could not explain at all. The pain cut his heart even deeper than the previous incident where Ning was injured.
"Am I worried that Ning would not be by my side anymore? That could not be the answer. Or is it that I didn't treat her as her sister? Could it be that she meant more to me than a sister? Could it be that I liked her all along? But.... But.... She's with Jun now. What more can I do? Should I just tell her how I felt? Or should I give her my blessings? I'm so confused now!!!! Maybe..... Maybe... I should protect her from afar, wishing her happiness," Milk thought to himself.
Ning got off Jun's back, and got her both of her feet on the ground.
"Jun, you better treat this little sister of mine properly. Or else..... I won't let you off. Do you understand?" Milk said sternly.
"I will, Milk. You don't have to worry....."
"Don't worry too much, Milk. I believe that Jun is a great guy. And ... Thanks. I think I'm the most fortunate person on earth to have you as my big brother. Thank you".
"Enough of all these guys. We should be playing and enjoying ourselves in the amusement park right? Let's go guys!!!" Show said excitedly.
"Yeah, that's right. Which ride should we go first? The roller coaster? Or the ferris wheel? Or even the carousel?" said Ting, supporting Show's suggestion.
"Why not we go on the most exciting ride first, leaving the least exciting ones towards the end?"
"Ermmm..... Can we don't go to those rides which height is a requirement there? Please?" pleaded Ying.
"That won't be any fun at all. Going to the amusement park would be all about the adrenaline rush and stuff. If there isn't any height involved, the element of fun wouldn't be there. Come on Ying. It wouldn't hurt to try".
"But..... But..... Why don't you guys go to those rides while I wait here".
"Stop it guys!!! If Ying doesn't want to take the rides, why don't you just leave her alone?" Roy started to flare up.
"It's alright, Roy. I can watch from afar. There's no problem with that".
"Alright. I'll accompany you while they are on the rides".
"Thank you".
"Why don't we spilt up in groups and then meet again for lunch? This will save time for all of us since everyone has a different likings for the rides in the park," suggested Tianqi.
"I'll go with Ting".
"I'll go with Roy".
"I'll go with Ning".
"That leaves the singles all alone. That's unfair. Never mind. We will all form the singles group. Hahahaha....."

Destined 遐想 - Chapter 20
Chapter 20: Mystery Unfolds
"Stop it there girls!!!! Can you tell me what's happening here? I'm confused. Who and what are you talking about?" questioned Jun, still confused and blur at what happened.
"It's that guy that I banged into a while ago. He's actually.... Ting's.... ex-boyfriend," replied Ning.
"What are we going to do? We can't let Ting and Arron meet, after what he had done to her".
"You are right. We better watch Ting, and not let them meet. Since, we are leaving only the day after tomorrow, we better keep a look out."
"Huh? What did he do? Why can't Ting meet that guy? Even though they had broken up, there is still a chance for them to be friends. There is no need to do that."
"You don't understand, Jun. A year back......."

A year ago........
"Could you lend me a pen? I forgot to bring my pencil-box today. If it's possible," asked this shy guy.
"Hmm.... Wait... I'll have to find it first. Sorry... It takes a while to find my extra stuff," replied Ting.
Ting had to dig through her whole bag inside out just to find her stuff. She places everything and almost anything inside that bag of her. Sometimes, even Ting herself does not even know what is in her bag.
After a long and thorough search, Ting managed to dig a pen out of her bag for Arron.
"Thanks..."
"No problem...By the way... My name is Ting..."
Ting extended her hand out to Arron. Arron looked at her and smiled, and extended his hand to shake hers.
"Hi... I'm Arron..."
"Nice to meet you Arron..."
Ting smiled when they shoke hands. Then she noticed that he was new in the class.
"Erm... Arron... Right? Are you new here? Cos I don't think I've seen you before..."
Arron was an exchanged student from Taiwan, who came to Singapore. The first person that he spoke to in class was Ting. Ever since that encounter, Arron began to unconsciously choose to sit next to Ting during lessons. The helping hand that Ting extended to Arron had left a deep impression on the very introverted Arron. He found her very easy to talk to, despite his own introverted personality. Whenever she spoke to him, he just opened up and poured his heart out to her. Especially when he saw that cheeky glint in her eyes when she smiled.
Just like magic, Ting and Arron literally "became one". They were inseparable in school. Doing almost everything together, except for going to the restroom. And both of them seemed to understand what the other was thinking without speaking out loud. They were able to finish off each other's sentences to an unbelievable accuracy. The special bond or rather telepathy that they both shared, brought their friendship into a level.
And during Valentine's day, Arron puckered up all the courage in his entire life, and asked Ting to be his girlfriend.
"Ting..."
"Hi Arron... Happy Friendship Day!!! Got any chocolates from prospective admirers???" Ting teased.
"Well... No..." Arron replied nervously.
"So are you going to give out any love letters today to prospective...."
"THIS IS FOR YOU!!!"
Arron closed his eyes and pushed the gift in his hands into Ting's hands, cutting her sentence short. Ting was shocked by Arron's sudden outburst. And the other students in the canteen all turned to look at the both of them, when they heard Arron shouting. Ting blinked her eyes in shock, but she raised the gift up from her hand.
"This is for ME???" Ting asked in shock.
"Yes..." Arron replied shyly.
"A Friendship Day gift for your good friend??" Ting probed.
"..."
"Well... Thanks... Arron... But I didn't get anything for you... I...."
"It's not a Friendship Day gift..." Arron interrupted Ting.
"Huh??"
"It's... It's... It's... A... Va... Valentine's... Day... gift..." Arron murmured nervously.
Ting stared at Arron in surprise. She did not quite expect this from him. She knows that they were on REALLY good terms. And there was certainly some chemistry going on between them, but she didn't expect him to ask her so soon...
"Ting..."
"Huh??" Arron's voice interupted her thoughts.
"... Will.. you... Will you..."
"Huh??"
"Will you... be my... girlfriend??"
Ting smiled. Arron was looking at her with those shy puppy dog eyes of his, which she could never resist...
She nodded her head.
Arron's eyes lit up when he saw her nod her head. He grabbed her shoulders.
"You mean..."
Ting nodded her head again.
"Oh my..."
Arron pulled her into his arms and gave her a long hug. He couldn't believe this was happening. He was too delighted beyond words. He just hugged her tightly to make himself believe that this was reality...
So this is how from friends, they become lovers, and then soul mates...
This special relationship that they shared made Arron wanted to stay by Ting's side forever. Once, he made a promise to Ting to finish his education here in Singapore before returning back to Taiwan. With this new found commitment in the relationship, it seemed that nothing could separate the both of them.
However, the honey moon period was short lived. The day of pain and separation has finally arrived. Arron received a letter of acceptance from a school in the States. Studying in the States had always been a life long dream for Arron. Seeing the letter in his hands, he felt both happy and sad at the same time. He wondered if he should just give up this chance of studying overseas or stay by Ting's side forever. In the end, Arron made a harsh decision.
Rrrrrrrrrring......... Rrrrring........
"Hey Arron! How come you didn't come to school today? Are you sick?" questioned Ting on the phone.
"I'm at the airport right now. I'm going to the States for my studies. I'm sorry that I didn't tell you earlier, cos I actually wanted to leave without saying goodbye... Cos I don't think I can bear to leave if I did... But.... But.... It's also a hard decision for me. I can't abandon my dreams.... because of you... I know I'm selfish. But..... I....," came the voice over the mobile.
"Stop it Arron. Stop it!!!! You can tell me honestly. There's no need to lie to me. I'll let you go if you tell me honestly. But why are you still calling me now for, since you've already made up your mind to leave without bidding farewell? You are too selfish... You never thought about my feelings at all... It's over Arron.... Over between us...."
Immediately, Ting hung up the phone. Tears started to take its place in Ting's eyes. It reached until a point where Ting was unable to hold back the tears, and the tears started to flow down her cheeks. She squatted down and cried loudly.

"That was the last time Ting ever had contact with Arron. After that incident, she cried for days before she could get back on with her life. That period was very tough for Ting," said Ning.
"Yeah. Both of us had to be there most of the time to accompany her. We were afraid that she could not take the blow and would do something silly. We really don't want to go through this all over again," added Ying.
"Since she had Show with her now. I don't think there a need for her to meet that Arron again. Why not we all go out together and do some sight-seeing with the rest tomorrow? I'll inform the rest of the guys."
"I'm fine with that. I know Ning.... You want to keep an eye of Ting, so that she would not meet that guy right?"
"Yeah. So, Ying? How about you?"
"I'm fine with it. I've got to tell Roy though, cos I think he's actually made plans to go out tomorrow with Milk, Zax and Wilbur to get some sports stuff. But, I think it should be fine, since we're all going out together anyway."
"Alright. I'll find a place for us to go, and inform Ting and Show about it".

Immediately, Ting hung up the phone. Tears started to take its place in Ting's eyes. It reached until a point where Ting was unable to hold back the tears, and the tears started to flow down her cheeks. She squatted down and cried loudly.

"That was the last time Ting ever had contact with Arron. After that incident, she cried for days before she could get back on with her life. That period was very tough for Ting," said Ning.
"Yeah. Both of us had to be there most of the time to accompany her. We were afraid that she could not take the blow and would do something silly. We really don't want to go through this all over again," added Ying.
"Since she had Show with her now. I don't think there a need for her to meet that Arron again. Why not we all go out together and do some sight-seeing with the rest tomorrow? I'll inform the rest of the guys."
"I'm fine with that. I know Ning.... You want to keep an eye of Ting, so that she would not meet that guy right?"
"Yeah. So, Ying? How about you?"
"I'm fine with it. I've got to tell Roy though, cos I think he's actually made plans to go out tomorrow with Milk, Zax and Wilbur to get some sports stuff. But, I think it should be fine, since we're all going out together anyway."

Serendipity 奇缘 - Chapter 14
Chapter 14: 約束 (yaku soku - Promise)
Meanwhile in the female restroom near the escalator...
"OUCH!!!!" I screamed.
"Kiki, are you sure you don't need to see a doctor? Your ankle really looks swollen and your knees are bleeding profusely, it doesn't seem like it's stopping..." Fifi said worriedly.
"No... I'm fine... I'll go after I send them off... I promised Max that I'll be there at the airport... mmmm... ouch..."
"Why don't you wait here for a while, I'll go and buy some medicine for the wounds on your knees first..."
"There's no time Fifi... I still have to meet Jaejoong at the escalator before their bus leaves... Let's just clean as much of the blood as we can and try to use the tissue and plasters I have to stop it from bleeding first.. "
I grabbed some tissue and plaster and passed the plaster and pack of tissue to Fifi to help me with the other knee. Fifi shook her head, but she took them and started helping me dress my wounds.
"Done... I hope it can stay in tact at least until he leaves..."
I looked at the plasters and pressed gingerly on them to secure them, before trying to stand on one foot.
"Fifi, can you please help me to the escalator? And PLEASE don't say anything to him... I don't want him to worry..."
"Alright... I know... I'll make myself scarce when he appears okay?"
I turned and looked apologetically at Fifi.
"No you don't have to..."
"It's fine... I don't want to be the 电灯泡 anyway... I'll keep a lookout for you guys..."
"Thanks girl... You're the best..."
"But you must promise me that you'll let me dress the wounds properly after you meet Jaejoong okay? And your ankle needs some ice and an ankle guard... "
"Yes I know... We'll do all that before we go to the airport..."
We stood at the escalator, and waited. It went up and down a couple of times, but Jaejoong was no where in sight. Finally after 10 minutes of waiting, the escalator went up again, and this time it came straight down without stopping.
"I think this might be him... I'll step away to keep a lookout for you first... And I think I'll call Theo to ask her to get the first aid stuff for you first since she's meeting us later... Then we can save some time..." Fifi said and walked off.
"Thanks Fifi..."
I held on to the side of the wall for temporary support. My eyes followed the numbers on the display panel as the escalator moved slowly down floor by floor. I felt a bit nervous, because I was afraid that he would notice my bandaged knees, swollen ankle, and shoeless feet. Self-consciously, I moved my bag to the front to cover my legs.
*DING*
I looked down at the escalator doors as they opened. And there he was, standing at the centre of the escalator. His eyes lit up when he saw me, and he started hitting the button panel repeatedly to make the doors open faster. Once the doors were opened sufficiently for him to pass through, he squeezed himself through the doors, and dashed towards me.
"Hey... Don't..."
He was so fast, he was already in front of me before I could finish making my comment.
"... do... that... You... might.... get caught..."
I looked at him in shock. He took a long look at me and he pulled me into his arms. I dropped my bag when he suddenly hugged me.
"It's okay... I know what I'm doing... This escalator is moving too slow for my liking... Can't stand it... Waited so long for it... Don't you want to see me longer?" he asked, hugging me tighter.
"Of course I want to... ah..." I squirmed when his shoe bumped into my swollen ankle.
"What's wrong?" He asked, pulling himself away.
"...erm.... erm... nothing..."
"Are you sure? You sounded like you were in pain... Let me take a look at the foot that had a cramp just now..."
He let go of me, and proceeded to squat down to look at my foot. I did not have my bag as cover now, as I had dropped it just now. And he was going to inspect my injured foot, he'll definitely see my injured knees and ankle. I had to think of something fast.
I grabbed his arm, and pulled him back up. He looked shocked at what I did.
"What's wrong?" he asked worriedly.
"Eh... Jaejoong... I... I..." I was lost for words. I didn't know what to say.
"Yeah??"
He looked so serious and worried, looking at me with full concentration. I felt my heart racing faster and faster.
"Erm... I.... I..."
I struggled to find something to say to distract him from inspecting my foot.
He smiled when he saw me frowning and struggling to speak. I was confused.
"Why are you smiling? I haven't even said anything yet."
"It's okay... I know what you want to say..."
His lips curved cheekily at the edges of his mouth, and he moved himself nearer and nearer to me. I leaned back my head until I bumped into the wall behind me. His face was now just inches from mine. I stared at him and blinked blurly.
"...What???"
"... You want to say... that... you... missed... me..."
He blew the words one by one slowly onto my face, making me feel goose pimples popping up all over my skin.
I looked down in embarrassment. He had read my unspoken thoughts. I did miss him. But my mind was so focused on distracting him from my injuries that I didn't mention it yet.
When he saw me looking away shyly, he smiled and said, "That's okay... Cos I missed you too..."
My eyes lit up, and I looked up when he said that. My heart felt like it was going to fly out any time, as it was racing like mad. When I looked up, he studied my face for a while, and he sweep away some stray hairs from my face.
Then he leaned in...
And planted a kiss on my forehead...
Then he pulled me back into his arms...
We stood like that for a while...
"You know... I really hope that I'll be able... to hold you... like this... for the rest... of my life..."
My heart melted. I didn't know what to say. My thoughts were whirling around in my mind like a hurricane. I felt a bit dizzy. I hugged him tighter.
"I do too..." I murmured softly.
*DING*
The escalator door opened.
"HYUNG!!!"
Xiah's voice interupted us. We separated to look at the escalator, all four of them were in it.
"We have to go now... It's been 15 minutes already..." U-Know said.
"Otherwise our manager will get suspicious..." Micky added.
"Yeh..." Jaejoong replied, and turned to face me again.
"We have to go now... See you later at the airport okay?"
"Okay."
"Promise me you'll be there okay?"
"Okay. I promise..."
He hugged me again and pulled himself away to join the rest in the waiting escalator. As the door was closing, I waved goodbye to them. And he noticed that my knees were bandaged, and one of the bandages had come loose, and was left hanging on one end on my knee. Blood was flowing out from the wound on my knee, and it formed a thick red line flowing down to my swollen left ankle. When he saw my injury, he wanted to dash out of the escalator again, but it was too late. The doors had already shut.
"Hyung, what are you doing?!!!"
The guys tried to pull Jaejoong back from the lift buttons.
"I've got to go back down!! She's injured... Her knees are bleeding... And... And... Her ankle.... is so... so.... swollen..."
"I know... But it's too late to go back now... We have no more time..."
"She'll take care of herself... And Fifi is around... Don't worry... She'll be fine..."
"Yeah... She promised us that she'll be at the airport later... So you'll be able to see her there again... Before... we... leave..."
"Yeah..."
Jaejoong relented and leaned back on the escalator wall.
"I just wished I was there to take care of her when she's hurt... I feel so weak... not being able to be there when she needs me..." he thought.
He felt so powerless and weak, not being able to be around to take care of the one he loved, when she was injured or sick.
"I think she doesn't want you to worry about her... And distract you... Probably that's why she didn't tell you about her injuries..."
"She's a strong girl... She'll take care of herself... For her own sake... And yours too, so you won't worry about her... So don't worry okay? Cos she won't want you to..."
"So don't worry okay? Hyung? She's MY Kiki-nuna! She's THE BEST! Like me!!! CHOIKANG CHANGMIN!!!"
"Ha ha ha ha.... Why do you ALWAYS end up complimenting yourself? And you make it sound so natural... ha ha ha..."
The guys broke out in laughter. Seeing all of them try so hard to console him, Jaejoong forced a smile on his worried face.

Destined 遐想 - Chapter 19
Chapter 19: The Mysterious Man
Taking the walk back to the resort with Jun made Ning the happiest and the most fortunate person on earth right now. She did not expect such a beautiful thing could happen to her. Jun, too, never expected himself to be so attached to a girl. Back home in Japan, girls were constantly fighting for his attention. He did not have to catch any attention from them. It was a totally different case back here with Ning.
Both Jun and Ning's hand were tightly twined together. As they were in the world of their own, taking the path back. BANG!!! Ning banged into a guy, head on.
"Ounch! What are you trying to do?" demanded Ning.
"I'm so sorry," replied the guy.
As the both of Ning and the guy started to regain their composure, they looked up and faced each other.
"Aaron???"
"Ning??"
Both of them shouted each other's name at the same time.
What is he doing in Taiwan. I thought he left for the States. Why did he have to appear at such a time? I must get back to the resort quickly and tell the girls about it. He can't know much about our trip here.
"What are you doing here? I thought you are supposed to be in the States now? Why are you here?" questioned Ning.
"I... I.... I'm back here to visit my family. It's the summer vacation back in States. Are you here alone or with someone else?"
"Sorry, Arron. I need to go now. I'm busy. But, I'm here alone. Have a great vacation. Bye."
With that brief answer, Ning pulled Jun along with her and left quickly, hoping that Arron would not follow her or ask any further question.
"Hurry, Jun. I don't want that guy to follow us back to the resort," said Ning breathlessly as she walked real quick to avoid Arron.
"Why are you so afraid of that guy? He doesn't seem like a bad guy after all," replied Jun as he was chasing Ning.
"You don't understand. I'll tell you more when we are back at the resort. So, we should hurry now. We shouldn't let him know which resort are we staying. Faster Jun. Faster....."

Once back at the resort, Ning ran all the way up to Ying's room, with poor Jun trying to catch up with her pace.

Taking the walk back to the resort with Jun made Ning the happiest and the most fortunate person on earth right now. She did not expect such a beautiful thing could happen to her. Jun, too, never expected himself to be so attached to a girl. Back home in Japan, girls were constantly fighting for his attention. He did not have to catch any attention from them. It was a totally different case back here with Ning.
Both Jun and Ning's hand were tightly twined together. As they were in the world of their own, taking the path back. BANG!!! Ning banged into a guy, head on.

As the both of Ning and the guy started to regain their composure, they looked up and faced each other.

What is he doing in Taiwan. I thought he left for the States. Why did he have to appear at such a time? I must get back to the resort quickly and tell the girls about it. He can't know much about our trip here.

"I... I.... I'm back here to visit my family. It's the summer vacation back in States. Are you here alone or with someone else?"
"Sorry, Arron. I need to go now. I'm busy. But, I'm here alone. Have a great vacation. Bye."
With that brief answer, Ning pulled Jun along with her and left quickly, hoping that Arron would not follow her or ask any further question.
"Hurry, Jun. I don't want that guy to follow us back to the resort," said Ning breathlessly as she walked real quick to avoid Arron.
"Why are you so afraid of that guy? He doesn't seem like a bad guy after all," replied Jun as he was chasing Ning.
"You don't understand. I'll tell you more when we are back at the resort. So, we should hurry now. We shouldn't let him know which resort are we staying. Faster Jun. Faster....."

"AH!!!!! At last it's over... My arm is aching from all the stamping and hand shaking!!!" U-Know quipped.
"Yeah me too... Did you see what a fan did to me just now? She tried to kiss me on my cheek!!!" Xiah complained.
"Hee... hee... Yeah I saw... Lucky you..." U-Know bemused, slapping Xiah on his back.
"Jaejoong, who's the last fan who went up stage just now? You guys know her?" TVXQ's manager asked.
"You mean Kiki?... She's...." Max interupted.
"OH.... She's just a fan we met at our hotel... She's been there everyday, so we kind of recognise her..." Micky butted in, trying to prevent Max from revealing too much.
Their manager looked at Jaejoong suspiciously.
"You sure that's it? You don't know her personally?" he probed further.
Jaejoong looked down and murmured, "*deep breath* No... I don't know her personally...".
Max wanted to butt in, but Micky pulled him back.
Satisfied with Jaejoong's answer, the manager said, "Okay... Glad there's nothing more... You guys should know that you're not allowed to have open relationships when you are still bound by contract... And you have 11 more years to go... So you'd better take note of what you're doing outside... Come let's get a move on, we need to rush for that radio programme..."
"Erm.. sorry... Can I drop by the restroom first before we leave? Call of nature..."
"Yeah we need to go too!" The rest chorused.
"Alright. I'll meet you at the minibus at the back then. Hurry up okay?"
And he left the guys to walk to the minibus.
"Hyung..."
"Shhhhh.... We'll talk inside the restroom..." Micky murmured to Max.
All five of them walked briskly to the restroom. Before they started to talk, U-Know checked all the cubicles to make sure there wasn't anyone around.
"Okay, we can talk now..." U-Know signalled.
"Hyung, why did you say that you don't know nuna just now?"
"Max... I... Can't..." Jaejoong was unable to answer his question.
"Didn't you hear what he said just now? We're bound by contract, we can't date anyone openly... If he knows that we went out with the girls yesterday, we'll all probably get in big trouble..." Micky replied.
"Yeah, Max... We need to keep yesterday a secret from our manager... And don't call them by name in front of the manager... He'll get suspicious... He's a very smart man..." U-Know added.
"So we need to pretend that we don't know them at all when we see them? It's kind of mean isn't it?" Max asked.
"I guess we have no choice Max... We might get them in trouble too... With so many fans and anti-fans around... If the paparazzi gets a word of this, they'll be hounded like mad too... You don't want that to happen to them right?" Xiah replied.
"Anyway, we don't have to pretend that we DON'T KNOW them AT ALL... Cos they ARE our fans after all... We just have to act naturally like how we do around fans and not show them too much acknowledgement, like we know them PERSONALLY..." Micky added.
"All right... I try my best... But I'm agreeing to this cos I don't want them to get hurt..." Max relented.
"Jaejoong-hyung, you too... Don't show too much emotions when you're with Kiki... Or our manager will get suspicious..." U-Know reminded.
"Guys, I'm sorry... I guess I wasn't thinking straight when I asked them to take us around the city... I'll take note of my own behavior from now on... Sorry to have to trouble all of you to lie with me now..." Jaejoong looked down depressingly.
"Hyung... Don't be like this... We know how you feel about Kiki, but it's just not the perfect timing right now... Since we just started our career..." Xiah tried to console Jaejoong.
"And 11 years is a LONG WAY to go without any girlfriend... Gosh what were we thinking when we signed the contract?!!! And what kind of sicko makes this kind of contract for fellow human beings??!!! ARGHHH!! And I haven't even dated anyone before I joined..." Max complained.
Everyone looked at Max in disbelief.
"ARGHHH!!!! I'm going to die old and alone..." Max sulked.

Chapter 12: Will I make it in time?

"Hello... Ning..."
"Kiki where are you now?"
"...erm... at home??? I just woke up... What's wrong?"
"WHAT!!!! AT HOME!!!!"
Ning's voice boomed through my handphone.
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING??!!!! IT'S TVXQ'S AUTOGRAPH SESSION TODAY AND YOU ARE STILL AT HOME!!!"
"What are you talking about? Isn't the autograph session later in the late afternoon at 4pm??"
"KIKI, WAKE UP!!! DO YOU EVEN KNOW WHAT TIME IS IT NOW??!!! LOOK AT THE TIME NOW!!!"
I reached lazily over to my alarm clock to take a glimpse at the time.
"OH MY GOSH!!! IT'S 3PM ALREADY!!! Why didn't my alarm clock ring???!!!" I screamed. I had set the time to wake up at 11am, as we had a long night the night before, so I took the day off to rest.
"YEEEESSSSSS! Hurry over now or you'll not make it in time! Don't you remember that they'll be leaving for Korea tonight?!!! Hurry!!"
"Okay, okay, I'm on my way now..."
I threw my mobile into my bag, and ran around the room madly, trying my best to get ready as fast as possible...
After 15 minutes of mad dashing around, I've finally managed to get everything ready as well as myself. I made a final check for my mobile and my album before dashing out of my house.
"Come on... come on.... where are all the cabs when you need them???"
I waved frantically at the cabs going pass, but none were empty. I took a glimpse at my watch. It was already 3.30pm. The autograph session was going to start at 4pm. Desperate, I tried calling for a cab.
"All our operators are busy at the moment. Please hold and we will attend to you shortly." Thank you for calling ABC Cabs." The pre-recorded operator's voice rang through my mobile.
"I can't believe this!!!"
I started running down the road, hoping to have better luck further up. I saw an empty cab driving towards my direction.
"Thank god."
I started running towards it, while frantically waving my hand.
The cab stopped.
Just a few metres before me, and I ran towards it. Just as I was reaching it, a guy came out of nowhere and hopped onto the cab. Furious, I ran up to the cab and banged on the window. The guy wound down the window.
"Excuse me, sir, what do you think you are doing? I hailed this cab first."
"Oh, is it? But I was standing further front of the road than you, so what makes you think the cab stopped for you?" The guy was indignant of my complaints.
"But... but... I was already running towards it..."
"Uncle, can we get going? I'm in a rush here." The guy said to the cabdriver, and started winding up the window.
"Hey... you... can't.... do... this..." I shouted, banging on the window as the cab started driving off.
"AHHHHHHHHHH"
My heel got stuck in the one of the crevices of the drain beside the road, and I tripped and fell. Onto the road.
I was furious.
Not only at myself, but also for not being able to wake up on time.
And also for having such bad luck on such an important day like this.
This is the last day that I can see Jaejoong again before he leaves for Korea. And ALL THESE have to happen TODAY?!! Why am I so unlucky? Why can't I be lucky for once in my lifetime?
I pushed myself up and sat on the side of the road, and gathered my spilled stuff into my bag. I took a look at my mobile. There was a crack across the screen, but it was still working. Next I took a look at my album. The case was cracked from the fall.
Looking at all my messed up stuff, I couldn't help but start feeling sorry for myself. I fought back my tears by blinking them away. I took a look at the time.
It is already 3.45pm.
There is a possibility that they'll be late, all celebrities start their promotional activities late... So I still have some time... Cos they'll be at least 15 minutes late, and with the fans queuing in the front, I still have time...
I tried to stand up.
"OUCH!!!"
I felt an immense pain on my left ankle. I tried to take a few steps but the pain was unbearable, so I sat back down on the side of the road. I took a look at my ankle. It was slightly swollen, I think it's probably a sprained ankle. And on inspection, I realise that my knees were also bleeding from being scratched by the rough road surface when I fell.
I was definitely in no condition to walk around trying to vie for a cab now.
"I have to get there. No matter what... It's the last day... I have to see Jaejoong again before he leaves..."
With this thought in my mind, I bit my lips and pushed myself up into a standing position. My ankle was hurting like crazy. I tried to block the pain out by concentrating on getting a cab. Finally after another 15 minutes, I managed to get a cab.
The time now is 4pm.
I hopped on one foot onto the cab.
"Uncle, I need to get to HMV as soon as possible. Can you please drive as fast as you can?"
"Miss, are you okay? You look like you are in pain..." The cab driver asked.
"I'm okay. Just hurry Uncle."
Once inside the cab, the pain came back and my knees were still bleeding. But I just sat with my hand grasping my bag and wallet tightly, getting ready to pay and hop off as soon as we get there.

"YES!!! Seems that they have a last minute radio programme that they have to be on before they leave tonight. So they're rushing through this so they'll be on time for the programme."
"I'm on a cab now. You go ahead first. I'll queue at the back myself. See you."
I threw my phone back into my bag.
"Uncle, how much longer before we reach HMV?"
"Erm it's hard to say, I think about 30 minutes or so, cos there's a traffic jam now in the city area. Peak hour... What to do?"
"Oh no... Please just go as fast as you can okay?"
I was now very worried. They could seriously go off before I reached the place if the traffic was bad. I've been stuck in traffic for more than 20 minutes before during peak hour in the city area.
After another 20 minutes...

"..Hello..."
"KIKI!!! Have you reached yet? I'm done already...."
"You're done ALREADY!!!"
"Yeah... They are only doing stamping and handshaking... So the queue is moving very fast..."
"Oh gosh I can't believe this..." I thought to myself.
"Where are you now?"
"I'm still stuck in traffic.... I think I'm 5 minutes away, but my cab's not moving..."
"Why don't you just get down and run over?"
"Run over...??"
"YES!!! RUN OVER!!! It'll be faster..."
"...I'm not sure my..."
"Oh gosh I think the last person in the queue has stepped into the mall already... Hurry!!!"
I put down my phone and looked at my swollen ankle.
"Uncle, how much longer before I'll reach HMV?"
"I think another 15 minutes, the traffic is not moving at all..."
"Okay uncle, I'll get off here and walk over... Thanks."
I paid the driver and hopped off the cab. Once I stood on the road on my feet, I felt the pain soar up my entire body.
"*Deep breath* Just do it! You can do it! Come on!" I thought to myself.
I reached down and took off both my heels, and started half-limping, half-running, half-hopping towards HMV, with my heels in my hands.
Needless to say there were loads of people staring at me as I struggled past them.
I was already sweating like mad when I reached HMV, with my shoes in my hand. I struggled into the mall, biting my lips, hoping that they were still there...
And there they were, on stage, stamping and shaking hands with the last five fans.
I struggled half-limping, half-running, half-hopping towards the stage, and rummaged through my bag for my album. The person in charge was staring at me when I walked towards him. I must have looked like a mad woman running along the road without my shoes on, and with bleeding knees.
"Are you okay? You're bleeding..."
"Yes, I'm okay... Can I still go?"
"...Yes..."
I passed the album to the person in charge. I wanted to wear my shoes back, but by now my ankle was already swollen to 1.5 times the size of my original foot, and the shoe didn't fit anymore, so I threw my shoes into my bag and waited for my turn.
I looked at Jaejoong as I waited for my turn. He was smiling while shaking a fan's hand on stage. I bit my lip as another wave of pain soared up from my ankle.
"You can come up now."
That was my cue to step up the stage.
I looked at the steps and felt another jab of pain soar up my body. I took another deep breath, and bit my lip harder.
"Okay." I nodded, and started limping up the steps.
When I reached the top of the stage, I heard someone from the audience shout "Hey you're bleeding!".
I looked down at my knees, and realised that my untreated wounds had been agitated by the running to start forming two "waterfalls" of blood down my legs.
"Your album please."
I passed my cracked album to the person in charge. He looked at me in disbelief, shaking his head, and placed the album onto the table.
I tried to use my bag to cover my bloody knees, and used the side of the table to balance myself as I walked towards them. Jaejoong was shaking the last fan's hand when I was at the table.
U-Know was the first at the table, followed by Xiah, Jaejoong, Max, then Micky.
U-Know smiled when he saw me.
"Hey Kiki... How come you're so late? I thought you're not coming already... Are you okay?" He started stamping my album.
"Sorry I'm late. I was caught in traffic.... Yeah I'm fine...."
He looked up at me after stamping and reached out his hand for me to shake. I struggled a bit to free my right hand to shake his hand.
"See you later yeah? *wink*"
"Yeah..." I limped towards Xiah.
"Kiki!! Are you okay? Why are you limping?" Xiah asked.
I didn't think that they'll notice when I was hiding behind my huge bag and the table. Jaejoong looked at me when he heard that.
"Hi Xiah... I'm fine.. Don't worry...It's just a cramp for standing too long... Just stamp my album and shake my hand... Don't wanna make you guys late for your next appointment..."
Xiah smiled, "Okay... If you say so...", and he reached out his hand for me to shake.
I shoke his hand and tried to walk over to Jaejoong instead of limping. But once I placed my swollen ankle down, the pain made my face wrench. I closed my eyes and took a step forward nevertheless.
I opened my eyes when I stood in front of Jaejoong. He was looking at me worriedly. I forced a smile on my face.
"Hyung... Can you stamp nuna's album so that Micky and I can stamp it too?" Max interupted.
"Max, don't interrupt." Micky nudged Max.
Jaejoong looked at me, and looked down to stamp my album. As he pushed the album over to Max, he realised that my album case was cracked. And he looked up at me.
"Why is this cracked? Did you fall just now? Are you hurt?"
Jaejoong tried to lean forward to try to look at my legs.
"Erm... I dropped the album this morning when I was rushing out, so that's why it's cracked.. I'm fine... I'm fine... Really... I'm okay..." I raised my hands to try to stop him from leaning forward.
"Jaejoong, just shake my hand and let me move on and get down okay... There're a lot of fans around here... And your manager...." I looked consciously at the fans and their manager nearby who were starting to wonder what's taking me so long.
"You sure you are fine?"
"Yes. I'm fine... It's just a cramp... It's nothing serious..."
I extended my hand out to him. He stole a glance at his manager, and shoke my hand with his.
"I'll see you later after this okay? Wait for me at the escalator."
"Okay..."
He withdew his hand and smiled. I moved on to Max.
"Nuna!!! I missed you. Thought you were not coming when I saw Fifi but didn't see you..." Max said excitedly, then stamping my album.
"Me too Max... I thought I almost couldn't make it in time..." I murmured.
"Huh?"
"Nothing..."
He extended out his hand warmly and when I extended my hand, he took it and shoke it roughly and playfully like a child.
"I'll miss you nuna... See you later okay? You're sending us off later right?" Max asked.
Everyone turned and stared at Max as if he had said a foul word. I blinked in surprise at his unexpected question.
"Erm... Kiki, come on over, it's my turn now, Max's taking too long..." Micky pulled the album over and tried to divert the attention to something else.
I started limping over to Micky's side of the table.
"But... I..." Max replied.
"Max!!" U-Know and Xiah chorused.
Micky stamped my album and passed it back to me. I smiled and placed it into my bag. Then he extended his hand out, and I took it.
"Thanks for everything... You've been great to have around..." He smiled while he shoke my hand.
"Don't mention it. I'm just being a host to foreign guests... So sorry that I haven't been a really good host..."
"No... You've been a GREAT host... We.. We ALL... love you..."
"YES WE DO!!" Max interrupted.
"Ha ha... Especially Max here, as you can see... Ha ha..."
I smiled. They were such warm, friendly, and down-to-earth guys. You won't believe that they were celebrities.
"Yes... I know... Thanks... Max... And thanks... Micky..."
I turned to step off the stage. As my hand left the table, my weight fell back onto my two feet, and a jab of sharp pain shot up from my swollen ankle. I limped slowly towards the steps. When I reached the steps, Fifi was already there waiting for me, as like the rest of the audience, she had seen my bloody knees and swollen ankle.
"Are you okay? Don't tell me you ran here like this???!!!! You're bleeding like crazy... And your ankle is so... "
"SHHHH... Don't let Jaejoong hear you..."
I turned to take a look at Jaejoong. The host had gathered them at the front of the stage to say a few last words to the fans before leaving. I turned back to Fifi.
"Shouldn't you be seeing a doctor or something now?"
"It's okay. It's not that bad. Just let me go clean up the blood before Jaejoong sees it. Can you help me to the restroom?"
"*sign* okay..."
I hopped towards the restroom with Fifi as my support. Jaejoong stole a glance at the crowd as the host was speaking to the others, and he saw us hurrying off to the restroom.

"Kiki where are you now?"
"...erm... at home??? I just woke up... What's wrong?"
"WHAT!!!! AT HOME!!!!"
Ning's voice boomed through my handphone.
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING??!!!! IT'S TVXQ'S AUTOGRAPH SESSION TODAY AND YOU ARE STILL AT HOME!!!"
"What are you talking about? Isn't the autograph session later in the late afternoon at 4pm??"
"KIKI, WAKE UP!!! DO YOU EVEN KNOW WHAT TIME IS IT NOW??!!! LOOK AT THE TIME NOW!!!"
I reached lazily over to my alarm clock to take a glimpse at the time.
"OH MY GOSH!!! IT'S 3PM ALREADY!!! Why didn't my alarm clock ring???!!!" I screamed. I had set the time to wake up at 11am, as we had a long night the night before, so I took the day off to rest.
"YEEEESSSSSS! Hurry over now or you'll not make it in time! Don't you remember that they'll be leaving for Korea tonight?!!! Hurry!!"
"Okay, okay, I'm on my way now..."
I threw my mobile into my bag, and ran around the room madly, trying my best to get ready as fast as possible...
After 15 minutes of mad dashing around, I've finally managed to get everything ready as well as myself. I made a final check for my mobile and my album before dashing out of my house.
"Come on... come on.... where are all the cabs when you need them???"
I waved frantically at the cabs going pass, but none were empty. I took a glimpse at my watch. It was already 3.30pm. The autograph session was going to start at 4pm. Desperate, I tried calling for a cab.
"All our operators are busy at the moment. Please hold and we will attend to you shortly." Thank you for calling ABC Cabs." The pre-recorded operator's voice rang through my mobile.
"I can't believe this!!!"
I started running down the road, hoping to have better luck further up. I saw an empty cab driving towards my direction.
"Thank god."
I started running towards it, while frantically waving my hand.
The cab stopped.
Just a few metres before me, and I ran towards it. Just as I was reaching it, a guy came out of nowhere and hopped onto the cab. Furious, I ran up to the cab and banged on the window. The guy wound down the window.
"Excuse me, sir, what do you think you are doing? I hailed this cab first."
"Oh, is it? But I was standing further front of the road than you, so what makes you think the cab stopped for you?" The guy was indignant of my complaints.
"But... but... I was already running towards it..."
"Uncle, can we get going? I'm in a rush here." The guy said to the cabdriver, and started winding up the window.
"Hey... you... can't.... do... this..." I shouted, banging on the window as the cab started driving off.
"AHHHHHHHHHH"
My heel got stuck in the one of the crevices of the drain beside the road, and I tripped and fell. Onto the road.
I was furious.
Not only at myself, but also for not being able to wake up on time.
And also for having such bad luck on such an important day like this.
This is the last day that I can see Jaejoong again before he leaves for Korea. And ALL THESE have to happen TODAY?!! Why am I so unlucky? Why can't I be lucky for once in my lifetime?
I pushed myself up and sat on the side of the road, and gathered my spilled stuff into my bag. I took a look at my mobile. There was a crack across the screen, but it was still working. Next I took a look at my album. The case was cracked from the fall.
Looking at all my messed up stuff, I couldn't help but start feeling sorry for myself. I fought back my tears by blinking them away. I took a look at the time.
It is already 3.45pm.
There is a possibility that they'll be late, all celebrities start their promotional activities late... So I still have some time... Cos they'll be at least 15 minutes late, and with the fans queuing in the front, I still have time...
I tried to stand up.
"OUCH!!!"
I felt an immense pain on my left ankle. I tried to take a few steps but the pain was unbearable, so I sat back down on the side of the road. I took a look at my ankle. It was slightly swollen, I think it's probably a sprained ankle. And on inspection, I realise that my knees were also bleeding from being scratched by the rough road surface when I fell.
I was definitely in no condition to walk around trying to vie for a cab now.
"I have to get there. No matter what... It's the last day... I have to see Jaejoong again before he leaves..."
With this thought in my mind, I bit my lips and pushed myself up into a standing position. My ankle was hurting like crazy. I tried to block the pain out by concentrating on getting a cab. Finally after another 15 minutes, I managed to get a cab.
The time now is 4pm.
I hopped on one foot onto the cab.
"Uncle, I need to get to HMV as soon as possible. Can you please drive as fast as you can?"
"Miss, are you okay? You look like you are in pain..." The cab driver asked.
"I'm okay. Just hurry Uncle."
Once inside the cab, the pain came back and my knees were still bleeding. But I just sat with my hand grasping my bag and wallet tightly, getting ready to pay and hop off as soon as we get there.
