Chapter17: The Cold Treatment
Walking down the hallway, heading towards the restaurant was a tough and arduous road for Ning. She was very afraid that she would meet Jun at the hallway. What was she going to do then? Pretend that nothing happened? Or just thank him for being such a good friend, and that he was willing to bring her back?
Out of the corner of the eyes, Ning saw that Jun was walking in the opposite direction as both Milk and Ning. Ning's heart was pumping real fast. It seemed that her heart was going to stop from over exhausting itself. What was she going to do now?
"Hey guys! The rest of them are all in the restaurant already. I was told to come up here and find you guys. Let's go for breakfast. Ning, are you feeling better?"
What am i supposed to say to him now? I can't face this guy at this very moment. I know I should give up. It's going to be painful to face him. Maybe just giving him up would be the best.
"I'm alright. Let's go Milk," Ning spoke as she was facing Milk, thus ignoring the presence of Jun.
Jun did not see that coming from Ning at all. He thought everything was going to be fine in the morning. Everything should return to its original place. Or maybe both Ning and Jun could be closer together.

Everyone was already seated at their designated seat, on a round table. Naturally, the two couples, who were Ying and Roy, and Ting and Show, were seated next to each other. When the three of them entered the room, Zax saw them and stood up and waved frantically and the trio. All three of them went up to the table. This time, Ning carefully situated herself so that she need not sit beside Jun. She placed herself between Milk and Ting.
"Ning, how are you feeling? Any better? If not, you should see a doctor," asked a concerned Ting.
" Nah, it's really alright. I'll be fine".
"Ning, I think after breakfast you should go up and rest."
"Ning, I believe you should be fine after resting for a while," said Eddy.
Everyone at the table was pretty concern about Ning. Everyone asked Ning how she was feeling and whether if she was alright. Even Jun had joined in the conversation and asked if Ning was feeling fine. He kept on apologizing to everyone for getting Ning into such an trouble. He kept on saying Ning was innocent in this whole matter.
Ning gave everyone a reply, but she totally ignored Jun. She did not acknowledge the presence of Jun. When giving replies to everyone, Jun was not mentioned even though he was involved in the whole incident. Ning responded to everyone except Jun. She treated as if Jun was invisible.
The totally cold treatment from Ning was making it unbearable for Jun. He did not understand why Ning was treating him that way. Ning was the one who shielded him from danger. It must had meant something. He did not want this treatment from Ning anymore. He could not take it. He needed some private time with Ning, maybe after breakfast, to find out what actually happened. This time, he was going to tell Ning how he trully felt. He could not deceive himself anymore. He wanted to be true to himself.
Seeing the awkward atmosphere building, Zax decided to lighten the mood by starting off with some jokes to liven up the atmosphere.

Straight after breakfast, everyone started to leave the restaurant. It was an free and easy day, everyone could do whatever they wanted with anyone. There was not particular group activity planned for the day. Like everyone, Ning left the restaurant and headed up to her room to rest. She needed loads of rest of the rest of the day, and time to sort out her thoughts.
Seeing Ning leaving the place, Jun knew that he needed to stop her. He needed time to talk things through. This time, he could not let Ning slip pass his fingers. He needed to take action this time. Even though, he might be ignored by Ning, he knew he needed to act fast. There were no more second chance for him anymore.
Jun ran up to Ning and grabbed hold of her arm, "Ning, I think we need to talk. Do you think we could find a quiet place?"
" I don't think so. There's nothing much to say, my friend. Nothing. It's really alright about what happened yesterday. There's no need to explain anything to me or even further apologise anymore. Let's just forget it. I need to rest".
"But..... But... I really need to tell you something really important. Please... Can u just spare me a second. It won't take long. I know you need to rest, so it won't be long. Please??"
"I really believe there's nothing much left to say. Could you just leave me alone? I'm pleading you to leave me alone. Please?"
Just when Ning finished her sentence, she turned around and started to walk away from Jun. Big droplets of tears started to form in her eyes. Her vision was blurred. How could she faced that guy again. That guy who had changed her heart. That guy who made her heart beat so quickly when he was round. The guy that she wanted to protect so much. But, she knew that she was nothing but a friend to him. When she made up her mind to give him up, he appear and gave her hope. But, she knew she could not allow herself to grab hold of this glimmer of hope. There was no way she was going to allow herself to be hurt again. It was painful.
Why is she leaving? I can't let her leave. Not this time. I allowed that to happen too many times. This time I would not allow myself to become a fool. Not this time.
Jun immediately ran up to Ning. He did not care if Ning was going to resist his invitation. He was going to bring her out there- to the beach. He knew that they needed time all alone. He must tell her how he felt. He was not going to fail this time.
"AHHHHH!!!!!!!! WHAT ARE YOU TRYING TO DO? LET GO OF ME, JUN. I WANT TO GO BACK TO MY ROOM!!!!!! AHHHHH!!!!!!!!" Ning screamed at the top of her voice.
The loud and high-pitched screams of Ning alerted Milk, who was in his room. Milk knew that screams was from Ning, thus rushing out from his room to find out what had happened. All he saw was Jun grabbing on to Ning's arm, pulling hard at her in order for her to advance.
"Jun!!! What are you trying to do here? Let go of her!!!!!" order Milk as he grabbed on to Jun's arm.
"Milk, I really need time alone with her. So, if it's possible, could you please leave us alone?" retorted Jun.
"NO!!! I'm not going to let her leave with you. You've done enough to hurt her. Just let her go!!!!!" screamed Milk as he let go of Jun's arm and grabbed Ning's other hand.
Both Jun and Milk were pulling Ning's hands at the same time, each on one side. The three of them looked as though they were playing tug-a-war, with Ning as the rope.
"Stop it!!! It hurts!!!! OUCH!!!!! "
Immediately, both of them let go of Ning's arm at the same time. This caused Ning to lose her balance and almost fall to the ground. Luckily, Jun grabbed hold of Ning's arm just in time to prevent her from falling.
"Milk, it's alright. I'll go with him and see what he has to say. Don't need to worry about me. I'll be fine."
Hearing what Ning said, Milk could not do much. He went back to his room quietly. He respected Ning's wishes. Most importantly, he didn't want Ning to be upset, he wanted her to be happy. No matter what she had decided on, Milk would definitely support her, even as her big brother.
"Ning, could we go out to the beach for a walk? I really need to tell you something...."
"Alright."
