Chapter 26: The Almost Fatal Car Accident


"Is everyone here? It's time to check out....." announced Ying.

"Let me count for you. One, two, three............ All 12 of us are present. We can go now," Roy said.

"Thanks, Roy. Let's go guys".

As the group decided to set off, they heard someone shouting loudly.

"WAIT FOR ME!!!!!!!"

Weird. Who could that be? Everyone was present. Nobody was left out. Everyone turned back to find out the owner of the screaming voice.........

To every one's surprise, it was Arron.

Arron was running as fast as he could to catch up with the group. He knew Ting was leaving the hotel today. He was wondering where could she be heading towards. Could she be going back to Taipei? He had to try his luck. If he guessed it correctly, he might still stand a chance with Ting.

"Hey guys. Are you going back now? Back to Taipei? If it's to Taipei, I'm also heading there too. Can I travel with you guys?" Arron requested.

"Yeah. Do you want to join us?" asked Wilbur.

"Wilbur!!! What are you doing? We are not going back to Taipei. Even if we are going back, I don't think there's enough space in the minibus".

"Don't be so mean. I don't mind squeezing with you guys in the minibus. I'm fine with it".

At this point, Show was very pissed off with the appearance of Arron. He was wondering why that Arron was doing here. Didn't Ting told him everything yesterday. Why was he still pestering her?

"Hey. If we don't have space in the minibus, you shouldn't even request to ride with us. It doesn't mean that if you don't mind squeezing with us, it means that we too don't mind squeezing with you. And the person who does not really want to squeeze with you would be me. So, if you are considerate enough, please find your own transportation back to Taipei," Show said in a sarcastic tone.

"Hey. Hey. Hey. That's not very polite of you. I'm just asking for a ride back home and that's it. It's not your say here. You alone here can't decide if I can take the ride back. You have to seek every one's advice".

"So what if I was mean or rude. It's none of your business. I just don't like squeezing with strangers. And that's it".

The tension between Show and Arron was building up. Each was not satisfied until they said something to hurt the other party.

"That's enough guys. Show, it's really fine to have Arron ride with us. Anyway, we are all heading back to Taipei".

Show's blood was boiling when Ting allowed Arron to take the same transportation with them even though he was strongly against it. Could Ting still have feelings for this guy here? He could not let such a thing happen. Ting was very important to him. There was no way he was going to lose out to this guy here.

"But... But... Ting... I don't really want to be in the same space as this guy here".

"That's too bad. Ting just said that I could go back with you guys. So, your opinion would not be needed here".

"Stop it, Arron. It's not that Show's opinion is not valued here. It's just a kind favour that I, as your friend could do for you. Nothing else and no intended meaning here".

Upon hearing Ting's explanation, Show was relieved. Ting was just trying to be kind and that was it. Show felt that this time, it could be him that would have the final victory.

The journey back home was unusually silent. Nobody was talking or telling joke. Everyone in the minibus felt the tension between Show and Arron. Even the joker in the group, Zax, kept his mouth shut. He too knew that one wrong move would ignite a huge explosion between the 2 guys.

Ting was sitting right at the corner of the car, with Show right beside her. Show was not going to allow Arron to sit beside Ting. On top of that, his sight of vision never leave Arron. And Arron's eyes was also watching Show.

Amidst the silence, Show and Arron's stare at each other was terrifying. Each stare was fatal. Show did not want to lose out to Arron. Thus, Show inched closer to Ting, in hope of making Arron know that Show was in charge here and Ting was his girl and not his. He gave a smirk on his face to show Arron who was in-charge.

From the corner of Arron's eyes, he saw Show's action. Arron was jealous. He stood up and started to move closer to Show.

"What are you trying to do here?"

"Nothing. By the way, that's none of your business. So, would you please get back to your seat".

Arron didn't even bother to listen to Show at all. He moved closer to Show, and grabbed Show by his shirt. He lifted his arms, getting into the position of throwing a punch at Show. And his fist landed straight on Show's face.

Show was furious. How could Arron punch him? He did not hesitate any longer and return Arron his favour. But Show's punch was even harsher than Arron. His punch caused Arron's nose to bleed.

"Stop it!!!!! WHAT ARE YOU GUYS TRYING TO DO???" screamed Ting.

Everyone in the minibus started to find out what was happening. Edy and Tianqi tried to separate the guys, but to no avail. Both of them were struggling to free, each trying to reach for the other party.

"It's alright, Ting. I'll protect you from this lecher here. Don't worry".

"What lecher? Do you know what are you saying here? It was you who started to hit me".

"STOP IT!!!! ENOUGH!!!!!"

"But, Ting. You saw that he hit me first right."

"Hey guys, cool it. Violence would not solve anything. You can sit down and have a talk," said Milk as he was driving with he head turned to see what was going on.

"MILK!!! WATCH OUT!!! WE'RE GOING TO HIT THE ON COMING LORRY!!!!!! AHHHHH," screamed Tianqi.

Fortunately, Milk was fast in reacting. He managed to swirl the minibus out of the way of the on coming lorry. The minibus escaped the crash. However, before anyone could heave a sigh of relief, everyone was going to face another danger. The minibus was going to crash into a tree at the side of the road. Immediately, Milk stepped hard on his brake, hoping to stop the car from crashing.

Eeeeeeeekkk...... The brake screeched. The minibus stopped suddenly. Everyone felt the jerk from the sudden brake. Show and Arron, who were not on their seat, got thrown back to their seats by the sudden brake.

Thankfully, Milk stepped on the brake just in time to save the every one's life.

"Look at what you guys did. Can you tell me how childish the both of you could be? Argh.... I don't know what to say to the both of you".

Ting was very furious, she moved out of her seat and got out of the minibus. Show and Arron was stunned by her action. Both thought that Ting was not going back with them. Thus, they followed Ting out of the minibus.

"Ting!!! Don't be mad. I'm sorry".

Both Arron and Show tried to shove the other out of the way. Each hoping that they would not lose to the other.

"TING!!!!! WAIT FOR ME!!!!"

"Sorry, Zax. Could you move to the back while I take your seat?"

"That's fine with me".

Ting decided to take the front seat, right beside Milk. She knew that only by sitting threre, the whole minibus would have peace.

Seeing that Ting did not want to leave by herself, both of them were relief. They got back into their rightful places.
